DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Cool, I think those and his jacket were a stroke of genius being that he is getting about, they give him character and some protection. I wanted to say that his kit is exactly right.

I thought I'd add these, Stator is not in them but I thought they'd be of interest... There's been a new bridge built that joins the North to the South, the recently opened half and we snapped a yawning Hippo... A nervous Giraffe... A Secretary bird... And some Lions, these were a long...

I have a very good friend and his dad has a lovely camp a few miles from here and lets us stay for free, it is run as the hunting camps used to be in the old days, the accommodation is spotless and appears to be basic but it really isn't and the food laid on is spectacular, first class service...

I had promised my wife a Safari into Tsavo as we haven't been for a few years. Everybody knows what a Safari is, it is less well known that it's Swahilli and it means 'journey'. I have this knackered old Toyota that never seems to give up even though it has a rubbish weak engine and couldn't...

Poaching is always a bad problem, I heard some very disturbing things a day or two back, I have heard many stories about who is behind poaching and there can only be one end. They say the black rhino is extinct the rest are not so far behind. I have just got back from Tsavo and am disappointed...

They stay for as long as is necessary, usually till they're 3and a half years old then they're reintroduced back to the wild in usually Tsavo I have a friends that work with them there and if I can wangle a look I will but its not easy, there is a blind Rhino there I believe that has been there...

Some of the tales that are behind the arrival of these poor traumatised creatures are truly tragic.. This poor one had been attacked by villagers and the mother killed. Like I said, some added because its special... The morning was over so quickly so off to catch the flight home, I...

So Mrs Chris says she wants to see some baby ellies because she's read about the Sheldrick Foundation that looks after orphan elephants and rereleases them into the wild, So as I had not been on the Mombasa Nairobi sleeper for man, many years, (about '67 was the last time) I thought 'cool train...

They'll find a way... There is a very similar fort to this but a fair bit bigger in Luanda Angola at the top of the hill overlooking the harbour which was a pretty cool place to visit I forget when I was there but it was the time the war kicked off the second time, there is an old Harvard plane...

    Newbie with a GS1000s

Maybe just get the bits as they become available on ebay, one thing to look out for is that the carb rubbers need to be good condition though I read here that gs750 ones fit ok. Mine had a mutilated top cover for a long time.

    Newbie with a GS1000s

First I've seen this thread, nice bike, I've never heard of a steering lock on the side of the headstock, have you found an airbox? They turn up on ebay occasionally.

    good JIS drivers from GoFast

Thanks, yes 400mm nice, get plenty of torque behind that, I will chase one up when I get back to UK, thanks for the links, I had seen some of them. I'm a bit old school with my screwdrivers, I like the old fashioned plastic handles that wipe clean of oil and are ready, not these soft extra grip...

    My zinc parts go missing

Maybe, hold onto the parts till the panel beater guy produces all your missing bits as hanging onto things like the axle bolts are still no good to him.

Some of these are random photos and after a while we had to cover Stator up because he was attracting too much attention, I had been warned a couple of times about holding tight to my camera by some locals but speaking swahilli helped ease off the tourist pressure, a tourist had been stabbed...

GT750 Rear spoked wheel, Fitment issue

the first picture shows the groove I mentioned, I think this is unique to the 750 hub.

GT750 Rear spoked wheel, Fitment issue

The front hubs are same from GT 250 through to GS1000, rears are different, the GT750 I think is closer to what you're wanting, take out your axle and see what differences you have. I have an idea that the GT750 hub is different to all the other GTs' in that the brake side there is a groove on...

I believe all that kind of thing is exactly the same as the 1000 shaft. Just saying as it will give you more options. And Welcome to the site, lots of information here/
