A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    1982 GS1100E Tail Decal

I bought mine from Reproduction Decals and it is excellent quality, it's exactly what you want. For some reason, I don't know why, they do not and will not list them on their website. All you have to do is write them an email telling them that it's an '82 GS1100EZ and the color of the bike and...

    Rear-set question

Thanks for the info, I do like the style of the universal Tarozzi's. Now I have a new question, it may sound dumb but, I really don't know, using the Tarozzi rear-sets (universals), do they mount in place of the passenger pegs? Or is this something that needs some sort of mount all its own...

Anyone know of a builder or kit for GS1100E hardtail conversion?

There was someone here a year and a half ago by the name of brandon25 that pretty much did what you are wondering about, here is a link to his thread: http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/showthread.php?t=174452&page=7 The guys here are really great and will point out things that you might not...

Removing Signal Lights - Yes or No

Hey evh, This might help a little, I posted a thread a little while back when I upgraded my turn signals because I didn't care for the way that they were the center focal point especially the front ones. Here's the link: http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/showthread.php?t=153948 Here are...

    Rear-set question

I've thrown my hat in the ring as being interested in the rear-sets that T8erbug is looking into to have manufactured but, if that falls through or does not materialize then, I am looking to find some that will fit anyway. I came across these They are available here...

    Riding Game

There's one of those reverse bungees in Galveston, about forty miles from me. I would go after it but, it's raining and I've got people here at my house installing travertine floors.

Post a picture of your custom GS

Yeah, the PO had it all screwed up. In the beginning I didn't know what was wrong, it just didn't sound right. Then one night, I started it and found it extremely worrisome that it had this bright cherry glow to it. I took it in and had everything checked out now, it runs great, it sounds...

Post a picture of your custom GS

It's a Corbin. I've got two of them, one is identical to it, the other can be seen on the bike below. New I believe they go for about three hundred dollars, you can find them on ebay and craigslist sometimes even in the parts for sale section on here for much less than the cost of new. Here's...

    clubmans on 1100E? pics?

Like I stated before, I'm six foot tall and for me it's comfortable but at the same time I wouldn't want to ride it to San Antonio, I could do it but I think that by the time I arrived I would be cursing myself for building it like that in the first place. I guess in the end my advice would be...

    clubmans on 1100E? pics?

I actually did a thread on it a few years ago. Here's a link to it: http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/showthread.php?t=144528&page=5 If you're interested in buying a fairing from "Dude" and have problems contacting him let me know, I have a couple of email addresses for him. It is an eight...

    handle bars

Buy the bars, you'll be happier in the end. If you cut your own, you have to paint them or chrome them, if you spray bomb them without proper prep the paint won't last, if you have them chromed it'll end up costing more than the purchase price. Buy the bars, you'll be happier in the end.

    handle bar ideas

I had a chance to buy a set of rear sets one time, they were among other parts including a V&H header and a few other parts all looked as they just came out of the new box. I just got hung up on the total price which included shipping to have it sent from Hawaii to my front door, now I realize...

    handle bar ideas

This is a repost of a response I gave in the appearance section to Mad Mark about Clubman bars: Okay, to start, yes I have actually had two bikes on which I had flipped a pair of superbike bars and they actually work great but, they do allow the starter button to hit the tank on the right...

    clubmans on 1100E? pics?

I'm six foot tall. I also want to point out that with the bike in this configuration, for me it's fairly comfortable but honestly I wouldn't want to ride from Houston to San Antonio like this, the normal riding configuration is like riding a sport bike or crotch rocket as they are called today...

    clubmans on 1100E? pics?

Okay, to start, yes I have actually had two bikes on which I had flipped a pair of superbike bars and they actually work great but, they do allow the starter button to hit the tank on the right and the choke lever to hit the tank on the left: My new bike with flipped bars: My old bike with...

    tank emblem screws

Ironically there is a Fastenal a mile from my house, they have a pretty big inventory of hardware on hand but they never seem to have on hand what I need so I just go to the website and order from the website. For example I needed a special #8-32 screw that's only 1/4" long and it's an Allen...
