A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Coils, I think?

Good thread. I like the idea of replacing the spark plug caps. Anyone have the code for the NGK caps for the 82 1100G motor off hand, so I don't have to decode them from Z1's site?

    Loud horn !

I just need to replace my existing horn. It's a little on the weak side. Does anyone know what the draw is on the stock unit? I was thinking of just getting one of these: http://www.z1enterprises.com/Nikko-Horn-12V25A-Black--Chrome-8.aspx

    I want 2 be free

I think you're right Steve. It's like a core charge. Give them the dead one and there's no charge, otherwise, it's 5 bucks.

    I want 2 be free

Now, you all are going to laugh, but I bought my bike in 2000 with a Walmart Everstart in it. I finally replaced it in 2007 with another Everstart and it's still going strong. Granted, it's in a heated basement in the winter with a trickle charger on it. I check the level maybe once in the...

    Thanks to my friends...

Yep. Weekends have been getting spotty here too. Wanted to get out last Sunday but by the time I got out to the garage, wind kicked up and clouds rolled in. Looks to be good this weekend though. Been running StaBil for the last few tanks just in case. Don't mind the cold weather but the first...

    Banjo washers

I'll have to see if Z1 can get them for me. They have the rebuild kits. And they're right up the road.

    Banjo washers

Might be rebuilding the front calipers on a 1100 I just bought. All the rebuild kits I've seen don't look like they come with new washers. Are these a must, and if so, you just pick some up at the dealer?

    Fuel guage oddity

Here's a weird one. Brother picked up an 82 750T. Runs good. But the battery was dry when he got it. Put water in and it starts the bike. But, turn the key on and the fuel gauge reads to the left of empty. Run it up to 2000 rpm's and it reads. Run it up higher and it goes to left of empty again...

I'll sync the carbs maybe next weekend. I was dying to get out and ride this week. My brother has the Morgan Carbtune so we just have to pop the tank back off.

    Valve Adjustment fun

Cliff, Steve and everyone. What a difference! I did a 140 mile loop today. Like Cliff said in his valve tutorial, I found that the bike runs smoother. The mirrors are rock steady at 60-65 mph (meaning no buzz in the handlebars) and the little annoying hesitation that I had around 2300-2500 when...

    Valve Adjustment fun

Cliff. Z1 is only 20 minutes from my house! So, the downtime was only the trip back to their place. Met the guys in shipping and Rob and Chris in sales. Very nice folks. Shot the breeze with them for a bit before I headed back. And yeah, you're right. Next time will be a lot quicker. Boy, once...
