I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Looking for "soft bags" and /or backpack suggestions.

I appreciate all the help. Decided on a tail bag. I'm going to buy the Nelson-Rigg Commuter Sport. $89 at Amazon. 13 length x11 width x9 height when expanded (22 liters). Will mount to both my GS and my 14. Looks good and it'll hold enough for me.

Suggestions for throttle stop (cruise control) that clamp onto the grip.

Your video helped me out. Thanks! Yes, I could see you were standing on the side. I'm sure the thumb lever operates easy enough in any position. If I decide to buy a throttle lock, the Vista is the easy choice. Right now I'm trying to find a tail bag that will hold enough stuff for a 3-4 day...

So that's how it's gonna be, huh? Put me on a pedestal and then shoot me down in flames.:heart-borken::disillusionment:

My own video! Man, I'm going places now! You're too good to me, Steve.:tears_of_joy:
  5. KEITH KRAUSE

Suggestions for throttle stop (cruise control) that clamp onto the grip.

Steve, when you have time, let me know how wide that assembly is that fits over the grip. I visited the Vista website and they show the thumb lever pointing toward the rider, which I'd probably want, easy on and off with your thumb, but I think the crossbar might interfere with pushing the start...
  6. KEITH KRAUSE

Suggestions for throttle stop (cruise control) that clamp onto the grip.

Wingsconsin, thanks very much for taking the time to help. I do have 3 questions. 1: What is the total width of the unit that's over the grip? Steve said it was 1/2" but it looks wider to me. 2: Going by the "friction grooves" on one side of the Vista's thumb lever, it's intended to be mounted...
  7. KEITH KRAUSE

Suggestions for throttle stop (cruise control) that clamp onto the grip.

Any chance you could post a pic here? One other question, please. So the Vista unit goes directly over the grip and the 3 set screws tighten the Vista's "collar" around the grip? Or do the set screws actually go through the grip and contact the throttle tube? Thanks for the help.
  8. KEITH KRAUSE

Suggestions for throttle stop (cruise control) that clamp onto the grip.

Did either of the owners say if the tie-straps worked?
  9. KEITH KRAUSE

Suggestions for throttle stop (cruise control) that clamp onto the grip.

Thanks for the reply. I read about this product but a lot of people said they slip too much or won't hold the throttle for more than a minute or two. I really like the simple design and price, but I'm pretty sure they won't hold a foam grip.
  10. KEITH KRAUSE

Suggestions for throttle stop (cruise control) that clamp onto the grip.

Rick, thanks for the reply. Interesting idea. Now you got me thinking and I'll probably come up with my own version and get myself killed. I had a similar idea today but haven't tried it yet. I have some industrial strength zip-ties that may work. I doubt they'll snug down enough to hold foam...
  11. KEITH KRAUSE

Suggestions for throttle stop (cruise control) that clamp onto the grip.

I'm not sure why my replies are also in red. Steve, thanks so much for the help. Despite not being smart enough to follow everything you said, I have an idea of what to expect if I buy the Vista. In buying a throttle lock, one feature I'd like to have is the ability to swap the same lock...
  12. KEITH KRAUSE

Suggestions for throttle stop (cruise control) that clamp onto the grip.

Steve, thanks for the reply and taking the time to provide pic's. As usual, I'm a bit confused. Your units look a little different. Got some questions. Please bear with me. How could you (if necessary) trim to length the bar that goes over the throttle housing? Does the threaded hole for the...
  13. KEITH KRAUSE

Suggestions for throttle stop (cruise control) that clamp onto the grip.

Thanks for the reply, Steve. Yes, I was thinking about the top one. Looks like the Omni-Cruise. I assume you can tighten it down so it will hold any rubber grip, but I'm not sure if it will hold a foam grip. I may have to call the maker. I really like my foam grips. The Vista looks OK and I...
  14. KEITH KRAUSE

Suggestions for throttle stop (cruise control) that clamp onto the grip.

There are several of the cam shaped throttle stops that clamp onto your grip. Some hold the grip better than others. "Omni-Grip" is one that seems like it may work well (?). Is there a brand you suggest? Also, I like my soft foam grips but I'm thinking the clamps won't hold as well with foam...
  15. KEITH KRAUSE

Looking for "soft bags" and /or backpack suggestions.

Never thought I'd be asking for this kind of help, but I'd like to try some "light" touring on my GS1000. By "light" touring, I mean 1-4 days and 300 miles or less a day. If it doesn't work out, I'll look into a new touring bike. I'd like to know what soft bags you like? I don't want the hard...

Looking at the 2019 Yamaha FJR1300A. Any experience, opinions appreciated.

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate them.:) I sat on the FJR and the weight was noticeable but not a big deal. Of course that's just sitting on the bike. My feet were touching exactly as they are on my GS or 14. I didn't like the matte blue paint at all. I wouldn't even consider a matte...

Looking at the 2019 Yamaha FJR1300A. Any experience, opinions appreciated.

I looked into the Concours 14. With the factory $1,000 cash off, it's the same price as the FJR, but $1,000 isn't going to make up my mind. Going from my ZX14 to ANY "sport touring" bike will be a shock in terms of style, but the FJR somehow looks less bulky and I can see myself on it more. The...
