A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    She lives !

My old 79 GS750 failed her MOT seven years ago on head bearings, so was parked up in my garage while I ordered new bearings. Got those, intended to get em fitted but somehow never got around to it, so there she sat gathering dust all those years. Just last week I was having a sort out in the...

    Stator, The GSR travelling mascot.

Great set of photos ! Still one of my favourite threads, get to see places all over the world from the comfort of my chair !. Stator sure has seen some amazing places, met some great people, dogs and cats too, one lucky bear !.

    Cranking but not starting.

A trick I was told by some old dude at a rally, sounds daft but worth a go before chewing on with the tank and carbs. Try blowing into the carb breather tubes, just a couple of short puffs into each. Give the bike a bit of choke and hit the starter. Don`t know why this works, but it usually does...

    Stator, The GSR travelling mascot.

Well, Stator has seen some amazing places and had some fantastic experiences on his travels, but think this trip has to have been the highlight. Thanks Tatu, really enjoyed those pictures. Only downside is that my wife has been nagging me about going on Safari for years, now she has more...

Wow !, that bear is certainly getting to see some amazing places. Thanks for showing him around Tatu. Good to see those little elephants are being looked after in the sanctuary, but can`t help worrying about their future once returned to the wild. I`m guessing poaching is the main problem ?.

Thanks for posting those pics Tatu and for all the information too, very interesting. Like Flyboy said, looks like a lovely part of the world, especially like that photo of the headland and the wild sea. Stator is one lucky bear, seeing so much of the world and so many different places. But...

That was a good turn out for the toy run Richard, but green with envy of whoever owns that Vincent !. I do have an old spanner from a Vincent toolkit, stamped with the name, but just need the bike to go with it. Guess I`ll just have to keep getting my lotto tickets then maybe one day !. Do you...

Did you manage to sneak the bike into the garage before Chris saw it Charlie ?.

    Stator, The GSR travelling mascot.

Hi Charlie, yes, gave it to him just before he flew out to the oil rigs. Dawn thought he might get a chill otherwise, plus he needed to look the part as John`s co-pilot.

Thanks chaps, he seems to have enjoyed his stay with us. Unfortunately, he has`nt had the chance to see any of the rugby, bit dangerous for him to be left on his own too long in front of the telly as Molly, our 6 month old cross Lab/German Shepherd has her bed in the living room and might not be...

Thanks gustovh, those are my Dad`s. He was a navigator in the RAF in WW2 and has always been fascinated by airplanes. He is 91 now and had to give a lot of stuff up when he moved to a smaller place, just kept his favourite bits and pieces. He has been following Stator`s exploits, which is why we...

    Stator, The GSR travelling mascot.

Well Stator thinks he has spent long enough in the North East and is keen to head off to meet Londonboards. Before he left though, the local biker bear club decided to throw him a party. Don`t think he was too impressed, not the most lively party and a distinct lack of female bears too, one on...

    Stator, The GSR travelling mascot.

Took Stator across to see my Dad, as he wanted to look at his collection of aircraft bits and pieces. He thought the P-51 cockpit was a bit basic compared to the helicopter though. He took a walk through the garden to Dad`s other hut, but did`nt reckon on meeting this, thought he must still be...

I remember you telling me you came down the A68 from Scotland Charlie. If you do so again on the way back, that cafe is really good !. Although having said that, we are only a few miles down the road and Dawn is a very good cook too !.

    Stator, The GSR travelling mascot.

Took Stator for a ride out today, to meet Dennis (UKGSnut) and his wife Loraine. Again, Stator had to put up with travelling in a knapsack as Dawn bagged the pillion seat on the Bandit. Met them at the A68 Cafe at Toft Hill, nice place but changed a lot since I was last there a few years ago...

Glad you enjoyed the pics Gramma Peppermint. Still got a few other places to take him so one or two more to post up before he goes to stay with Londonboards. I`m a bit envious of him too, he sure has been to some interesting places since he set off on his world adventures !.

    Stator, The GSR travelling mascot.

Stator was not feeling too good, had a hangover and sun stroke (amazing, this is England where rain and grey skies are the norm !). Anyway, he got us to run him to the hospital on the way back, but think it was just an excuse to meet that NHS nurse bear again.

    Stator, The GSR travelling mascot.

Been busy with work for last week or so, but finally got to take Stator for a ride out. Had to go on the Bandit and don`t think he was too happy having to go in a rucksack, but there is only room for one on the pillion seat and Dawn had already bagged that !. Anyway, took a run out first to Raby...

One more picture before he left the rig, he is back with me now, having a rest before we show him a few places around County Durham.

Richard, I`ve sent you a pm. Tatu, thanks for posting that map. I was going to ask John to show me on a map where they are but you beat me to it !.
