A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

There's also a fully loaded one about 20 miles from me. Price seems a bit high, but it looks like an impulse buy that the seller now regrets: http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/mcy/5713690719.html 1983 GL 650 Honda SilverWing condition: excellent fuel: gas odometer: 33921 paint color: silver...

Dude, you're fighting a losing battle. I would wager that there are at least 50 active posters (and probably a couple hundred registered users here) who have leather Corbin saddles on their bikes (Corbin still makes them for the '82-'83 GS1100E, the monoshock GPZ1100 and 750, the ZRX1100/1200...

He's already into chains (GS1100E, XL883L). Now with the leather, the only thing he's missing is a riding crop. His safe word is "GS".

    Nitrogen in tires?

Here's the deal with using nitrogen in tires. I know this, it's part of my industry. The nitrogen that tire shops use comes from a good old air compressor like many of us have in our shops. The difference in the system they have compared to what we have is that the air coming out of the tank...

    Please dont do this...

I have drilled out a couple broken exhaust studs myself using left hand drill bits. Drill a pilot hole in the end of the stud, then use a slightly larger LH drill bit to enlarge the hole and bite deep enough into the stud to back it out. This followed several rounds of copious amounts of...

    83 silverwing

Rock solid dependability, smooth as butter, very comfortable, not very fast. My brother had one for several years. Put about 25,000 miles on it without issues. If it's got any signs whatsoever of leaking coolant, run away. Water pump failure is common on high mileage (60,000 + miles)...

    Please dont do this...

Since you're pulling the head anyway, a decent machine shop can drill out that JB Weld and re-tap the hole on the intake for not much money. Have you pulled the exhaust yet and looked at what's left of the exhaust port hole?

There are several products available that can make leather pretty much waterproof if applied regularly. Mink oil, Beeswax, Sno-seal, Lexol, etc... all work great, if you follow directions and use properly and regularly. Ask anyone who works outside in work boots, any hunter who hunts in slop...

    Craigslist "funnies"

You can barely give a non-running Voyager 1300 away, only made a couple years in limited numbers, parts are tough to come by and they are difficult to work on. That Ninja might be worth $1,600, if it runs fine. Judging by the pipe and the fairing, I imagine it looks way rougher in person than...

    New 83 gs850g

Yes. Synch the carbs and see where things go. If the cylinders were all firing before the valve adjustment, and now they aren't, then you know where to start. If synch'ing doesn't help much (make sure to note the initial readings before making changes), then you probably should go back in and...

    GS 1150 mono shock

Your '81 GS1000 has dual shocks. They are discussing a monoshock setup for the GS1150. I highly recommend Progressive or Hagon shocks for a swap out for your bike if you are on a bit of a budget. Either set can be had with proper springs for under $300. Go with Ikon if you can afford a...

    Craigslist "funnies"

Last year there was a clown in Indiana listing a 1982 GPZ750 on ebay, with a Buy It Now price of $2,200. He had a written description describing it as "mint", but the picture was one he had pulled off the internet of another bike. I contacted him and told him he was in violation of eBay's...
