DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

1984 GSX 750 EF down under

Can't believe it's been almost a year since I posted here. The GSX sat lonely and unloved for a while, I had a couple of exhibitions last year that took up a lot of my time and I got off track with the old Suzi between that and doing some work on the other bikes. Anyway I'm back on it now. I've...

    1984 Katana 7/11

Nice one Pete! Sounds awesome! I hadn't been on here in a while and it put a smile on my face to come in and see your beast on the road. Come down to Melbourne and I'll get some nice pics for you in exchange for a spin ;)

Irish Road Racing, Cookstown, Tandragee, NW 200, TT

Wish I was there! I went to the Classic TT/Manx GP last year, what a place! Truly Mecca for motorcyclists. Even without the racing it was better than any bike show. Rare and unique bikes everywhere!

1984 GSX 750 EF down under

Thanks mate. Yeah it is an outside carb. I've been following that PDF guide all along, so helpful to have it spelled out! All the passages are clear, fresh o-rings are here, just putting them back together. I ended up using some oven cleaner to tidy up the bulk of the oxidisation on the...

1984 GSX 750 EF down under

Finally back GSX work. I had a 2 week off road adventure in Tasmania so prepping for that took all my time. Got back to rebuilding the carbs - those tiny holes in the float bowl were clogged in 3 out of 4 and took ages of poking around with wire and carb spray to clear. Almost ready to put...

Thanks Pete. Been following your Katana build thread, can't wait to see it all together, you're doing a great job. My best mate's dream bike is a Katana and I'm pushing him to save up and get one (mainly so I can take it for a spin!)

1984 GSX 750 EF down under

Only had a few hours to dip one set of carb body and float this weekend, but the Yamalube carb dip did a pretty good job. Only problem is there's not that much in a bottle to do more than one carb at a time. Should get em all done next weekend. Didn't have much time because I went on a road...

1984 GSX 750 EF down under

Thanks! So a previous owner has jetted it richer for some reason... Well I'll run it how it is and see I suppose. It's stinking hot today, so probably only manage an hour or two in the shed. Finish up the painting on the frame and then maybe I'll go shopping for some tools I need. That's a...

1984 GSX 750 EF down under

Hi all, Not really a restoration, just a freshen up, but for me I may as well be building the pyramids. After buying an '84 GSX750EF last year, I've finally got time to put some work in and get it on the road. I don't really know what I'm doing so this place is a massive help - I would never...

You too mate, look forward to seeing it!

Anti-Dive brake hoses removed - is there a reason?

Interesting, thanks for the insights. I think I probably misquoted the suspension guy (btw, he is from Ikon based here in Aus - I was hoping to buy locally which is hard when it comes to niche moto stuff). Rather than 'ideal surfaces', he probably meant that it is a controlled environment - as...

Anti-Dive brake hoses removed - is there a reason?

Also, congrats on the purchase Rory, in the same situation myself, picked it up last year and finally getting around to putting the work in. Is yours the same blue on white colour scheme?

Anti-Dive brake hoses removed - is there a reason?

Seeing as though this thread has popped up, I am planning to bypass the anti-dive on my gsx750ef - have just ordered braided steel brake lines minus the anti-dive lines. 2 quick Qs (yes, I've searched but found conflicting info) 1) Will leaving the units on and just disconnecting the lines work...

    Island Classic time

Anyone from here going along? I'm thinking of going Sunday. I met a couple of the guys from team Classic Suzuki at the IOM Classic TT/Manx GP last year and they will be racing their Katana and presumably other bikes this weekend. Such beautiful sounds!

    Has anybody used Marving mufflers?

Hi Andrew, I'm also in Melbourne. How much did it cost to get an exhaust custom made? Looking into options to replace my rusted out stock system.
