A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Raising 650GL seat

I?m six foot, so in my search for a 650 I went for the GS650G rather than the L. Reading this, I?m glad I did, as the L sounds cramped.

What happened to all the 1000cc bikes?

Same goes for vintage British bikes. A 1960s Triumph sells for a lot more in the UK than in North America.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

I thought of that too, this morning, AFTER i'd dropped it off at the shop . But not to worry, if it's something that simple they'll charge me maybe 30 mins labour, and likely give it a welcome general look over too.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Sunday rode to breakfast with the bike club. Riding home, bike broke down. Losing power, and then wouldn?t start, then would start but over 2000 rpm makes cracking sound from pipe and runs rough. Turned off, cooled, started again, idiles fine, take revs fine at first, but then crackling...

Facebook Groups for Suzuki GS Owners

I use Adblock on Facebook, including on the Dolphin browser on my iPad (best way to avoid YouTube ads!) so Fakebook gets nothing from me ad wise. Selling my data wouldn?t be very fruitful either, lol.

    MC reservoir sight glass leak

I don't know how Americans get by without health insurance. Our Canadian system isn't perfect, but with my family seeing its share of accidents, babies born, knees/hips replaced and cancer fought, I'll wrap myself in red and white. On the site glass, I assume it's fine on the inside, but that...

    Leaking petcock

The NOS petcock is now installed and totally dry. Total cost new petcock installed $160. I have the old petcock and may take it apart for my own learning. This winter I'll be taking off the tank entirely as I'm shipping out the sending unit for a rebuild.

    Polishing my motor

Here?s my final effort for this week, brown and white compounds and pads bought at 2009 bike show, and my cordless drill. Still some nooks and crannies to do, but I?m sufficiently satisfied to switch over to tremclad touch up painting the frame next. Anyone have a nonpaint stripper idea for...

    Leaking petcock

You might be right. As best I can tell, the fuel is leaking from above the petcock, where it matches with the tank underside. I?ll be asking the mech who did the original work to recheck everything on Tuesday before install the NOS replacement petcock.

    Polishing my motor

So far so good. Went at both sides with 400 and 600 grit wet sandpaper. Got most of the clear coat and oxidation off. I?m leaving the old emblems in place until I finish the polishing with my drill and white compound. question, what the the best way to get the emblems off? One side is...

    Polishing my motor

I’ve been holding off polishing my “new” GS650G as I wanted to make sure it was mechanically sound. But after 1,000 km she’s running great, so time to make the bike shine a little. You've inspired me to give polishing the motor in the frame a try. Here’s the starting point. I’ve ordered new...

    Leaking petcock

I just got my 1982 GS650G back from my local mechanic. Sent in the bike due to a leaky petcock, and they installed a petcock rebuild kit. But it still leaks. When the motor is running there is no leak, the petcock is dry, but when the bike cools down, there is fuel sweating behind the petcock...
