A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

GS 1000 G filter box, this absurd creature.

Assuming they are the same as for the 850G that is definitely the case. I have found it difficult to get the airbox on the carbs but my rubbers were not exactly primo most times. If you think it would help to make the boots more pliable you can try soaking them in a wintergreen oil solution...

When do you expect ev bikes to become practical road bikes.

EV batteries are recycled. The materials in them are too expensive to go to waste. They also can be used just as they come out for the car as grid storage for renewables power producers.

Alexander, note that this thread had been moved into the carbs/fuel/exhaust forum. The redirect from General Discussion will expire in one week.

    Pic of the week game

If there is still time I will vote for Norm and break the tie. I like the overall picture and how the spokes integrate into it.

When do you expect ev bikes to become practical road bikes.

A lot of people agree with you. E-bikes here are beginning to take the roll the mopeds and small displacement motorcycles have long occupied in other countries, particularly in Asia. Phenomenal growth vs motorcycle sales relatively flat.

new bikes, your opinion on current engine configuration trends

It seems to me you are commingling two separate issues--one being engine configuration and the other being prestige brand pricing.

    Single wheel trailer

The url showing on the bottom of the trailer (wheel.com) appears to be a health care related website with no presence of anything related to trailers or to motorcycles.

    Is it worth it?

You can remove the tank and hang an external one for your tests. If the engine does not die out after short time that will tell you to focus on the petcock, tank, and lines.

    Is it worth it?

This sounds like at least two different issues. Why are they having to jumpstart it? It does not crank with a fully charged battery? Once started how long doe it run before dying out?

    Single wheel trailer

Interesting. How does loading and unloading work? I assume it is from the side; no imbalance issues?

    Helmet Shopping

Rich, I would like to hear how you find the "Adventure" style helmet for street riding particularly for longer trips and higher speeds. I have never used anything but the standard (3/4 or full face) helmet my whole life but I can see some qualities to the off road type that I might appreciate...

Okay, I will go against my usual priority and vote for the vista shot of Rich over the slightly more "theme" shot of burque.

I always put a lot of weight on honoring the theme which this week is "What's New". Four years newer than the purchase date is hard to bead. It has to be 650 Skull in a walk. :encouragement:. ..

When do you expect ev bikes to become practical road bikes.

Every live electrical outlet in the country is a recharging station albeit a very slow one in the case of 110. Or most homes have one or more 240 outlets (stove, clothes dryer, etc.) that will charge much more rapidly if you have the appropriate adapter. The point is that electricity is much...
