If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Rocker arm nut size changes

I know that all the older 16 valve GS's took a 9mm wrench to adjust the valves. I ordered some recently and the part # superseded and the size now takes an 8mm wrench. So I ordered enough to make a full set of 16.I did not want to mix them up besides needing 2 wrenches I thought they could weigh...

ignition kill for air shifter HELP PLEASE!

I think I remember Super Bike mike had a kit that mounted the micro switch at the shifter and had an adjustment box in milliseconds to kill the ignition. I know we put kits on some bikes back in the eighties that we were just foot shifting full throttle and no clutch.. Might check him out and...

    GS 1100 Shifting Issues

AS far as loosening up. I think it's was possibly the shift cam, gears, etc..were a little rusted, pitted, etc. since you said it sat a long time. Then after use it smoothed the grooves in the cam out. Causing it to shift properly. Just a possibility. I know I have polished the casting marks off...

    Clutch Switch

This does not especially apply to your year unit .I have been explained this by Suzuki factory techs. But removing or bypassing the clutch switch on the newer bikes effects how they run. Just think the motor is in 3rd gear turning 8000 rpms going 65 mph. the ECU thinks that the clutch is pulled...

Valve stem seals, valve spring plus a question or 2

Oil can leak past the guides but It's highly unlikely in your case. Unless totally worn out and out of round. Doubt if any is passing past the guides and the guide bores The springs need to be installed with the tighter coil windings facing the head. I have had them float in other engines when...

    Extended arm poss. problems

I have been thinking about installing this arm on my bike. Bottom view to show strength. But the shock mounts are in the stock location just 4 inches further back. Which will lay the shocks down at such an angle I don't believe they will work properly by possibly binding , I have thought of...

Stator Rotor Slipping... is it easy to spot?

Something that I have done several times on all different type motors when the rotor spins on the crank (even slightly damaged) is to take valve lapping compound and lap the rotor to the crank. Just apply the lapping compound to the crank and inside the rotor and spin the rotor on the crank...

Can't remove inlet needle seats from CV carb

These compound pliers from Snap-on provide approx.75% more clamping force then ordinary pliers for something like you are doing, also stubborn cotter pins, stuck dowel pins, you name it. If used properly they really don't squeeze things that out of round either. I have demonstrated them to...

Single cone filter fixed to air plenum?

I have run the same set up for years with 36 cv's and a stage 3 Dynojet kit installed. You keep the rubber velocity stacks that are inside the air box molded into the boots. Which pods do not. Also the hot air from being located behind the cylinders, Plus the plenum effect like you would see in...

    Stator puller needed

Cool flywheel holder I have 2 O.E.M. Suzuki part #'s and they both bent when I was trying to take the bolt off and torque them back on. They were very weak where the flat bar meets the half circle with the adjustable pins. I have since welded some 45 degree angles on them in that area. But yours...

I agree with Jay and the rest . Just get 3 or 4 to be sure they weigh the same of some new matching pins and problem solved, Don.t forget circlips never reuse them I have been told. No compression after valve job still....

Usually if you can spin the shims in the buckets by hand without much resistance most of the time they are not tight enough to effect compression while cold maybe when they get hot and expand they might. Now if you can't turn or spin them that means they are tight that will cause low...

Bike wont start after carb rebuild

If fuel is shooting out of the plug holes ,Check the oil level and see if it's full of fuel. Possible crankcase is full of gas. Sounds like a float sticking or not shutting off. Bike run before you messed with it? Check compression May need shimming or adjusting depending on what bike your...

    80-82 vs 83 GS1100e clutch packs

Just think if thinner there will build more heat quicker, but more surface area with an extra plate might make up for that. Flip a coin. I think I would make the trade off for less heat if all this extra plate and being thinner is true. Just me though. I would defiantly go with the O.E.M...
