A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Is it possible to replace Emgo coil wires?

I've replaced HT wire on OEM original coils but not sure what an EMGO coil looks like. Have a picture you can post? That might give some clue... EDIT: This is what the HT wire sits on in the OEM coil, just a spike at the bottom of the recess in the coil body when all the goop has been dug out...

    Yamaha YZF750R experience

That looks sweet Gordon, you still have it? How would you sum up ownership - they troublesome to maintain and wish you never had it or easy to keep running nice? From what I've read on the web and in magazines, I've found no mention of them being a valve shredder or any other class problems...

1st generation AUTO cancel TSCU "banging the bits"

No, it's coupled noise on the input lines from the switching at the coils. The wiring from the switch runs right between them. These days the input to whatever you try to detect a switch activation with ends up being low voltage at some point. It's a job to differentiate between what you do want...

1st generation AUTO cancel TSCU "banging the bits"

I hope that works Dale. Remember though it can only operate within the supply it's connected to. If I remember the characteristics of the noise I saw was full scale (ie 12v or close to it) high Q and high frequency. I had to put a second order low pass filter on each input signal and then I was...

1st generation AUTO cancel TSCU "banging the bits"

Well from the experience with my effort, don't forget my design around the inputs changed drastically when I connected it in to the bike after working flawlessly on the bench. All because of the environment the thing has to work in. Not sure what the noise immunity is going to be like with your...

    #4 carb acting the fool

As you changed #4 body, I assume you installed the original brass (jets) into the replacement body including the needle jet.. and checked they are all what should be there compared to the parts list... right?

1st generation AUTO cancel TSCU "banging the bits"

RB, did you mention you'd mocked up the first circuit (the one you sent me) without the uP? If so did you try hooking it into a bike and testing it with the engine running? At the expense of throwing a damper on things, it'd be nice to know how that worked out...

    Yamaha YZF750R experience

Anyone here have experience with Yamaha 750's, 1994 YZF750R EXUP model in particular? My son has been saving some pennies and has found one for sale he's interested in and I have no idea what to look for good or bad. I joined a Yamaha forum and asked the question there, so far nothing. Any...

    Dumb question installing progressive 11-1107's

Yep, planning on the usual 3/4" preload then see where that gets me when I measure the sag. I just couldn't believe progressive were suggesting having no preload let alone having a gap in there! All's making sense again.... must be time for a cuppa :)

    Dumb question installing progressive 11-1107's

Yeah, thanks Dale. I did read Brian's post when searching around. Not the article though obviously... I just called progressive 'again' and finally got a body to talk to. Says their installation notes are "not worded the best they could be" - damn skippy! He said somewhere in the notes it says...
