A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

That's reassuring. Between gel and foam, which would you say is better?

    cruzinimage_co intake boots???

FWIW... I put OEM boots on 10-12 years ago. Carbs came on and off tons of times. Rode countless thousands of miles, the last miles were on a 9000 mile cross country trek over 3 months. Then I fried my stator, had a head gasket leak, and a ton of other issues towards the end of that trek. Limped...

    Gs1000g, take two.

How did you like the memory foam, Brandon? I'm about to redo my seat cover, and while I have it off thinking about trying to make it more comfy. I've been hesitant on the memory foam, because I like to shift around a lot while I ride. I was thinking that memory foam would remember the "squish"...

    78 GS 750 Rebuild

So this is what I've been up to the last couple of days. 20180512_204000 by samL9, on Flickr This was after a good wipe down, but before I got to really cutting things up. I now have 80% of my wiring done. Still need to clean up all the switches, etc. And plug it all up to test before I...

    Wiring Diagram Template

Does anyone have an editable template of the original wiring diagram for a '78 GS750? I'd like to be able to have one that shows the modifications I've done/am doing. I have the ones in my manual and from bikecliff's site, but I can't edit those other than printing, crossing out in pen and...

Check to make sure that the shift pawls aren't backwards. Keep the round part at the bottom, but try switching them around. The two aren't interchangeable. One is meant to go on the top, and one is meant to go on the bottom. I had the same issue, and that's what it was for me... Also, doesn't...

    4 into 2 exhaust

Any other options stateside for 4 into 2? All I can find are the Mac systems, and they don't have the greatest reviews/reputation.

    4 into 2 exhaust

This was a while back, but any updates Steve? Are you happy with these? Any pics or video of them on the bike? This is so close to stock (as far as looks) I'd be happy with them if they sound and perform well. Shipping from Oz might make them out of reach though...

Looks like we took opposite approaches to our builds... We both started by getting a rolling chassis, but then I finished up the engine while you finished up the chassis. Now you're working on things I finished up awhile ago and vice versa. I think you'll have the engine buttoned up and in the...

True... I've just been reading that ethanol does bad things to small engines...even ones that are run continuously

How Much Brake Fluid from dry?

I think you're right about that. I've never bothered with a torque wrench for brake lines, and never had any issues with leaking. On this build, I've been torquing everything to spec. Seems manual spec didn't give the appropriate amount of "squish" on the washers. Cranked down to "2 finger...

Yup, seems the large bottle I bought was way too much for the job, and will likely go to waste. Oh well, live and learn.

    Treatment for Gasoline with Ethanol.

Any new ethanol snake oil to look into come out in the last 3 years? Looking for something to use at every fill up to prevent issues... Or am I worried for nothing, and just dump some seafoam or stabil in if it's going to sit?

How Much Brake Fluid from dry?

New bolts, new washers. The washers don't look copper, they're silver colored...but they're the OEM parts listed on the fiche. Gonna try an extra nudge with a ratchet and leave the bungee on a bit longer. See if that does the trick...

How Much Brake Fluid from dry?

I torqued everything to the high end of the spec range listed in the Suzuki manual during assembly. Left overnight with a bungee cord on the lever. Went to check on them this morning, and there's a drip of fluid on a couple of the banjo bolts... Should I give them a bit of an extra crank, or...
