A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

    1983 GS1100GK Aussie barn find

Another side view photo. I used electrolysis on the tank to remove rust but that didn't do well so used some diluted hydrochloride acid which worked really well. Still need to line it though which is next on the list.

    1983 GS1100GK Aussie barn find

A few updates. Added new shocks as the existing ones were leaking and rebuilding seems to be too expensive so Fox knock offs will have to do for now. New headlight and rear blinkers added too. Also finally managed to start it today ! Exhaust note sounds awesome and very healthy. Still a ton of...

    1983 GS1100GK Aussie barn find

Thanks Burque73 Seems like it's much more involved than I thought but doable. Any idea if removing those saddle bag holders at the rear requires removing the air shocks?

    1983 GS1100GK Aussie barn find

Good day guys, I wasn't looking to get another bike after putting my current 1982 GS1100G on the road just a few weeks ago but came by this bike and just had to buy it thinking i can use it for parts if i could get it for a good price ... New 1982 GS1100G owner

Thanks for that rphillips. Might as well be clutch rattle since pulling the clutch almost makes the noise disappear. I need to educate myself a bit more about the bike that for sure. She's been sitting in a shed for a while too for the past few years while being started a few times a year so...

    New 1982 GS1100G owner

G'day everyone, I posted earlier on the forum about a GS1000G that i was planning to buy but ended up passing on that specific bike. Today, I managed to buy a 1982 G1100G instead. Bike looks very original except for a 4 to 1 exhaust. It was an unexpected barn find... The bike has done around...

    Help with Bike identification

Thanks for that @phydeauxmutt, I've been reading up a lot on the 850G and yeah i think i can confirm the bike is a 1980 1000G. That tow bar does look great, almost looks factory fitted. My only concern is that towing a trailer might have strained the engine and the fact that the instrument...

    Help with Bike identification

Thanks for that @Zuluwi, much appreciated. I can't seem to find anything about the engine number from https://ozebook.com/compendium/suzi/engine-nos/page3.gif and also the chassis plate number is nowhere to be found in that list above either. To my untrained eyes, the bike looks like an GS850G...

    Help with Bike identification

Hi guys, GS enthusiast here from Melbourne Australia. Found a 1980 GS1000G that i am really interested in but can't seem to be able to find much info about the bike using the chassis plate# (GS100G-106213) and the engine number(GS100G-110090).
