    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    1983 suzuki gs 1100e

Obtaining a new or used, black or chrome V&H 4-into-1 exhaust for a 1983 GS1100E should be easier than falling off a log (I know of 3 different models they make for that bike). The "q983 gs q100e" is a MUCH rarer bike. I've never seen one.

Things that make you say why?

Sounds better than most modern mufflers! A clothes pin and an old Manny Mota card were all that was needed. Catalytic converter my ass!

Ooh! It's got a water bottle holder! But where's the GPS? And phone? And intercom? And backrest? And saddle bags? And music system? And tire pump? And tool kit? And crash bars? And highway bars? And luggage rack? And last, but certainly not least, the tassels? What kind of self respecting rider...

    Riding Game

Great pic! Nifty game! Boy, if games like that were around in the 70s and 80s, I would have been riding every day!

Really? How many bicycles have you seen with shaft drive? And I don't mean electric, or gas, or ion powered. Foot & leg powered - like in the 60s and 70s.

Things that make you say why?

Now a 'belt' I can tolerate. My 2016 Sportster had a belt. I don't know what exactly it was made of - some combo of rubber and steel, I think, but I know one thing. It acted a lot more like a chain than a shaft. It went round and round, and transfered power from a front sprocket to the rear wheel.

Give credit where credit is due. At least it's not a shaft drive!

    1983 GS 1100ES, not mine

I would think $3500 to $4000 is reasonable. 14,000 miles is very low mileage. 🤩

It all depends on the miles and condition.

    What's up with tires?

My mechanic had a hell of a time finding a front and rear Sport Demon at the same time. And that was more than 10 years ago!

I was much more comfortable leaning into, or hanging a knee off the left side. Right side just feels...dangerous.

Another Suzi finds a new home. Well done. I hope she's not too shy, cause I have the feeling she's going to be very popular at the next safety meeting.
