A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

1981 Suzuki GS1100E For Sale on eBay - Not Mine

Except for the color scheme, it sure looks like 1st Gen 11E to me.

Your story got a lot more interesting at the last 2 words. 😍

    Mechanical Ignition Advance

When I put pods on my 11E, it ran so poorly that it was virtually unrideable. I had to cover more than 90% of the pods with tape so I could ride it to the dynamometer for jetting.

Hanging Idle (I know, but bear with me) and different carbs

That's what I was going to say. Petcock should now be the first target. However, just because the petcock is faulty, doesn't mean the carbs are functioning properly.

    Please help with 1982 GS1000G

    1. It's NOT low mileage 2. Lot of cosmetic issues How much do you like it? Is it the exact model you were looking for? If not, does it still 'check all the boxes'? (Ex: did you want shaft drive?)

    Please help with 1982 GS1000G

All depends on the price now (I didn't see one). Engine runs good, "everything" works, you like it, so talk him down as far as possible. What's the asking price?

1983 Suzuki GS 1100 ES For sale not mine

Going on 4 months, dropped asking to $4,500 from $5k, doesn't sound like an extremely motivated seller. IIRC, my seller dropped to $1,500 from $1,900 after a few weeks. But that was almost 13 years ago!

Hanging Idle (I know, but bear with me) and different carbs

Can we all agree on one thing? That the choke is meant to be used virtually every time the bike is cold started. Particularly on these old GSs, which were known to need a lot of choke adjusting on start up. And on another thing? That when the GS is performing like new, there should not be ANY...

1983 GS1100ED For Sale with parts

I took a quick look at the pics. Twice, a pop up informed me of a cash prize ($9k & 5k), but I elected to "cancel" rather than "check" to see if I'd won. You will let me know if I've won, right? 😉

A sleazy Motel 6. As opposed to the swanky ones? At least now we know why their rooms smell like skunks.

Tire Mounting/Balancing Service... Thoughts and Opinions.

Yeah, but say you're riding along, happy as a clam, keeping it at or below 80 mph, and suddenly you encounter a law enforcement officer who wants to prove his Crown Vic is as fast as your 11E. Are you just going to disqualify yourself while you've still got another 60 mph between your legs? 👮...

Tire Mounting/Balancing Service... Thoughts and Opinions.

Doesn't that junk leave a gawd-awful mess in tires and on wheels? I'm thinking of that goo (foamy) stuff. Is there a product that just consists of BBs rolling around inside? If so, I can easily imagine them not working at all speeds and even vibrating, which would scare the shyte out of me...

    Having trouble with cold starts?

I'll say joke. Just not all that funny. Possibly some demented creature who's likely to have a large laugh if he ever sees just one rider who fell for it.

Hanging Idle (I know, but bear with me) and different carbs

Idle w/o choke in 5 minutes is a tad long, but letting it idle with (varying amounts of) choke for a few minutes after start up is not improper. Your choke is there for a reason - use it. On the other hand, the idle set screw is not normally meant to be used every time you ride. Quite the...
