A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Upgrading ‘78 GS750 dual discs to 1980+ GS850 setup

I have a '78 GS750E which from the factory had dual discs with round pads. I converted to early to mid 1980's GS square pad calipers and slotted rotors. Bolted on with no modifications/no issues. Installed EBC semi-sintered pads and I am pleased with the conversion.

    78 GS750E Rear Rotor Swap

I have a '78 GS750E with dual front calipers and rotors swapped from early 1980's GS's. The rotors are the slotted style which do not match the factory original and later by me, drilled rear rotor. Thus for looks and to a lesser extent, lower unsprung weight, I'd like to install a later model...

No dynojet kit available for 77-79 GS750

On my 78 750E I'm at 27.5 mains, with stock pilots and needles up one notch. Fuel screw set at 1.5 turns. Was at 1.25 turns which ran well, but resulted in carb popping upon slow speed deceleration. The additional quarter turn eliminated the carb "coughing". I set air screws to stock setting...

    2v 750 Piston Questions

Is Wiesco 750 big bore pistons in stock 850 cylinders an option? Would this be simple "drop in" given 69mm pistons? No boring expense with additional benefit of thicker cylinder wall.

    GS750E Mikuni VM26 vs. VM29 Smoothbores

Got my hands on a set of VM29 Mikuni Smoothbores which were on a 77 GS750. The bike was stored unused for almost 10 years. Seller knows nothing about the bike's prior running condition other than it had velocity stacks and 4 into 1 exhaust. Looking for opinions on whether or not it's...

Super bike bars, sport touring bars, dirt bike bars..

Daytona bars with 30mm risers are perfect fit for me. Without the risers I felt like I was stretching a bit too much and sitting too close to the tank. For me, risers required replacement of aftermarket shortened brake line with a new 17 inch line.

Idiot stuff. Spark plug and plug cap issues

On my 750 I followed the writeup on BikeCliff's (Basscliff') website titled Spark Plug Cap Replacement. Clipped the ends of the OEM coil wires 1/4 inch and installed NGK caps XB05F and VB05F. The inner ones are straight caps. Caps have an inner screw which you simply twist on the coil wire...

81 GS550 - Question about new tires (Not another tubeless debate)

The directional arrow is a function of the tire's construction. The front tire receives the majority braking force, while the rear sees most of the acceleration pressures. Braking and acceleration are opposite forces. Thus, the tire marked Front mounted backward on the rear makes sense...

    Tire sizes. Battlax BT45

I recently removed Avon Roaders from my 750. Low mileage tires with front and rear cracking in the valleys of the rain groves. 2012 date stamp, which from reading various internet posts was the last year usually cited for cracking. Avon size were metric 100/90-19 and 120/90-18. I installed...

    Oil Sump Filter (Screen)

Worn clutch material not filtered by the oil filter? Enough crud to warrant dropping the oil pan every 6K miles?

    Oil Sump Filter (Screen)

Thumbing through an old Chilton's repair manual for the 77-78 GS 750's reveals regular cleaning of the oil sump screen is suggested. Manual published in 1978 says the screen should be cleaned every 6K miles. This is news to me, so I check out the Suzuki factory repair manual to confirm. Sure...

    Truck-Lite 27270c Daytime Running Light

Steve, thanks for the sage advice. High beams with courtesy sounds like the way to proceed. Sent an e-mail to the Truck-Lite folks. They indicated their light cannot run on reduced voltage. Said it would cause the LED to either strobe or not work at all. So DRL concept for the Truck-Lite is...

    Truck-Lite 27270c Daytime Running Light

Steve's LED clear blinker set up looks interesting. Would seem to be legal since normal blinker function is maintained. In the interim, I'll take Steve's advice and turn on the high beam. Could aim it a little lower during the day and tilt it up at night.

    Truck-Lite 27270c Daytime Running Light

Installed a Truck-Lite headlight on my 78 GS750. As others have noted, it's a great nighttime light. Lower amp draw is another plus. However, I've experienced more cars pulling out in front of me compared to before. I'm riding with low beam on. Previously rode with my 65 watt H4 bulb on high...
