I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hah. Just realized we are both on the xs650 site as well. Coals to Newcastle.

    Carmo igniter

Has anyone ever investigated using two GN250 ignitors to fire their 4 cylinder bikes? They have about 34 degrees of electronic advance built in. They are as cheap as $23 apiece on Amazon. Guys at he XS650 site are using them successfully to get rid of their points systems or to replace failed...

    1985 GS550E Oil lines

Damn Mike, we have owned three of the same bikes (550,Turbo, Bandit). When I went from the Seca to GS1100 I was surprised it didn't pull a whole lot harder than the XJ when it was puffing, although the 1100 did it from idle up, and on the Seca it was iffy whether or not the rear tire or clutch...

old oil - low miles, but sat in the bike for 18mo. HELP OMG WHATDOIDO

I bought a 900 Seca in 2001 that had sat since 1987. I pushed it home 6 miles with a half deflated front tire and dragging brakes. I pushed it up my parking garage at my apartment building, then rode the ramps down and dropped the clutch to unstick the motor. Once I got the carbs cleaned, I put...

    Sh775 charging problems

It is dependent on the phase angle between the two separate phases. They are not at max/min at the same time, therefore you will not see exactly half of the phase voltage measuring from one wire to ground. This works exactly the same in three phase industrial electrical. If you are measuring...

    DOT head on Bandit 1200

Yup. I was showing 260kph when things began to get blurry. It was a long pull to hit 240 with the stock cams. I don't know how much the RS38s contributed, but the power was instant. You will never miss the "lost" midrange. Totally different animal.

    DOT head on Bandit 1200

I have a set of 1100 cams of you want them. Some light pitting on the lobes but nothing catastrophic. I can take pics of necessary.

    DOT head on Bandit 1200

I used the stock 1200 sprockets, as the 1200 uses a Hy-Vo type chain. I did spin it by hand and met no resistance. The only thing I can think of is the chain may not have been seated in the teeth of the crank sprocket and it pulled in under load, but you'd think all 4 cylinders would have yakked...

    DOT head on Bandit 1200

The cams in the GSXR-1100 and the Katana 1100 are the same. Look for a B stamped in the end of the intake cam shaft. The 88 750 exhaust will also have a B, but the 89 will have a G as they changed exhaust timing in 89. All things considered, I should have just kept my 1100E!

    DOT head on Bandit 1200

You be DAMN careful when doing this. I went by the book and it destroyed my engine. https://advrider.com/f/attachments/20180904_111329-jpg.1519857/ https://advrider.com/f/attachments/20180904_111321-jpg.1519859/ https://advrider.com/f/attachments/20180830_175126-jpg.1519861/ Don't expect to...

    GS1100E trouble

I'd pull the igniter connector and make sure all the connections are clean and tight. My 1100E would die without warning until I cleaned up all of the pins and pinched the female bullet connectors a bit tighter.

Suzuki Parts--Exhaust valves for oil cooled DOT heat.

They are the same size as Bandit 1200 valves except 3mm (3.5mm?) longer.

Suzuki Parts--Exhaust valves for oil cooled DOT heat.

Probably. Seems the Kat750 (88-97) and the GSXR750 (88-89) are special. I bit the bullet and ordered new from Ebay and Partzilla. The good part is I now know those RS38s are not THAT loud!

Suzuki Parts--Exhaust valves for oil cooled DOT heat.

Anybody have a line on a good source of affordable parts? I need a set of 8 exhaust valves for a 1991 Katana 750 head on my Bandit 1200. I mis-timed my exhaust cam last summer and bent the valves. I took the valves out of my Bandit head, thinking they were the same size, but while the heads are...

Did you pull the petcock to see if there is any plugging of the screens or valve?

1984 gs550es sarts cold, runs well, then won't start

Try riding it with the petcock in the prime position to rule out a vacuum problem with the fuel tap. My 1100 would die at random times. Found out the connections at the ignitor had slacked off enough to become intermittent. I cleaned and crimped them and the problem went away. Drain the tank...

    Blower sizing

I figured in front of the engine with a pipe to a plenum for the carbs, or, back of the engine with one large suck-through. Rotation might determine which way is most feasible. These blowers are from Asian Kei-cars, with about 600cc displacement motors. I have seen these bolted to Harleys...

    Blower sizing

Ebay, Aisin AMR500, 500cc per revolution, 16,000rpm limit, Bandit 1200 with GSXR750 slingshot cams, dot head, which will have to go for compression reasons. I figure with 2 intake events per revolution, that's 578cc engine displacement per rev, so that's almost 1:1. A mild overdrive should get...

    Blower sizing

Does anyone have a rule of thumb for matching the displacement of a blower to the displacement of an engine? There seems to be lots of Japanese Kei car blowers for sale on that auction site, I figured it might be an easy bolt on proposition if the size was right (500cc per revolution).
