A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Should I worry about my stator GS250T

OK that's about what I thought. I do rev the heck outa the little thing. The shorty mufflers sound amazing. Really not loud either with the stock baffle, just a really fun sound. I'll investigate space I have available for a series R/R. Gotta be room under that seat somewhere even if I have to...

Should I worry about my stator GS250T

There's nothing wrong with my charging system at the moment. I'm just wondering how much likelihood of overheating the stator there is on this particular bike under the conditions I ride at. From https://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/showthread.php?191795-GS-Stator&p=1630965#post1630965 "It...

Should I worry about my stator GS250T

Hi folks, been enjoying riding my little cafe bike. It's a GS250T with just under 5k miles. It's very quick for it's size with pods, lifted needle and larger main. Typical rides are are spirited and usually about 5 miles one way. Never over 20 one way. Speeds up to 80 but usually 30-50. Should I...

    GS250T Fork Measurement

Rich, maybe I used the term "stiction" wrong. First of all, we are talking about a little old bike with the most simple and rudimentary forks you can imagine. I don't think anybody usually modifies them. Mine sat for a long time and after bringing it back to life and riding it some, it seemed...

    GS250T Fork Measurement

Hi Folks, can anyone else tell me what you get for a measurement from the bottom of the lower triple to the top of the dust cap on a GS250T. I'm getting 5 3/8". Went through a sticktion problem, now I'm just trying to make sure it's gone. Thanks bunches!

    Helmet Visor fog and rain

I find that the combo of pinlock and glasses is just not a sharp enough view for my taste. Too many layers. I just crack the visor a notch on my Shoei.

    GS250T Springs

Sorry for taking so long to respond. Family illness put all bike wrenching on hold. They are single springs. Very good to know about the 450. Many things are the same. Will update later. Maybe much later with how it all turns out.

    GS250T Springs

I replaced the oil soon after I put the bike back together after a total tear down for frame painting a couple of years ago. My recollection was that there was just a single spring at that time but a lot has transpired with other bikes in my life since then and I didn't trust my memory once I...

    GS250T Springs

Thanks for the suggestions. The main problem is that there are no specs and Sonic doesn't list that bike. Not like I can just click on some springs on a website and buy them. There's nothing missing from the forks. Bike has only has about 4500 miles on it. Got some other stuff on my plate right...

    GS250T Springs

Hi Folks, seems like the fork springs on my little GS250 are sacked. They don't really fully bring the headstock back up to proper height without some help. The fiche shows a 2 part spring that isn't available. I'm a light rider approximately 150 lbs fully geared up and really just looking for...

For those with pods - what to do with breather hose?

I haven't got anything at all hooked to the metal breather on the valve cover. It's totally clean and as long as it stays that way I don't see a need to do anything.

Carb bowl drain bolt size/thread - CV carbs - and where to get?

Ethanol free gas is availble at my local lawnmower shop and also at an independant fuel dealer in my area. I realise it's different all over the country but might ask at a small engine place. It can be pricey but for just a couple of gallons, it's worth it.

Carb bowl drain bolt size/thread - CV carbs - and where to get?

I would ad that filling with ethanol free gas before storing really helps.

Should've just cut the tach in half

I've spent untold hours pulling apart old Honda tachs in an attempt to fix them. My conclusions is that the bearings start to wear out and snag and they are not repairable. Sometimes you can get a little bit more time out of them with lube but that's it.
