A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Carb OEM specs as per factory manuals

Cool, thanks Roger! I also found this: http://gsarchive.bwringer.com/bikecliff/images/carbspec_float_height.html Not sure why my jets are different than the specs. Could it be because the previous owner had a K&N filter in the air box? I got K&N pods and a Dynojet kit which calls for the...

    1985 gs700es HELP!

Thanks for your answering this post. Your right, it's a rare part. Thank you for the link. I ended up ordering both. Got the air box and a set of air pods. I'm actually curious to see the difference between the two. Figured I'd order the dynojet kit anyway as well. Bike came with a K&N filter...

    1985 gs700es HELP!

Thank for answering this post. Yeah the more I look at it, I feel like that's the only way. Do you remember which DynoJet kit you used? Part #3125 is what I found on eBay, says it's good for this bike? Also do you mind explaining to me what it means when it says, stages 1&3? Another...

    1985 gs700es HELP!

1985 gs700es Hi, I'm new to motorcycles. Started riding last season on this fine gs700es. Didn't do anything to it, rode it until it basically stopped working. Now that it's the new season, I'm trying to get it back up and running. Doing the work myself so I can learn. Turned out the...

What jets when moving to pods?

Hi, I have a 1985 gs700es with a damaged stock airbox. Having a tough time finding one on ebay, so I've been thinking about getting air pods. I've heard mixed results, good and bad. Do it, don't do it, trying to find the right mixture is hard... Seems like K&N are the best option, along with...

    D8EA vs. DR8EIX

I know IX stands for Iridium, and I know these spark plugs last longer and are more expensive. I guess what I was getting caught up on was the "R." I'm not sure if my bike calls for a resistor, but I assume it doesn't for how old the bike is. I imagine DR8EIX are for much newer bikes with...

    D8EA vs. DR8EIX

I have a 1985 GS700ES. Ordered a set of DR8EIX spark plugs online. The description said that it fits my bike, but I just found a service manual and it calls for D8EA. What is the difference? Am I okay with using the spark plugs I ordered?
