A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Random Photo thread

Same occurrence as the last post just a different location. This was taken in Huntsville Ontario and just pure luck we were directly under the impact point of the charged particle stream from the sun. Never seen anything like it before and it lasted over an hour.

    KPH speedometer Q?

This was in the era of the "Energy Crisis" bull. 55 mph speed limits for you guys and our 400 series of highways were reduced from 70 to 60 mph and then to 100 kph (62 mph). The end result was a massive increase in speed fines and insurance costs because of this.

    KPH speedometer Q?

As for the 85-mph speedometer, that came into being through another piece of legislation a few years later. On Sept. 1, 1979, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration added a provision into a regulation focusing on speedometer accuracy to place an emphasis on the 55-mph mark, and for a...

    Safe To Weld?

Disconnect the battery. Ground your welder to the swingarm. You do not want welding current travelling through bearings, pins, bolts screws, engine casings etc, as this causes internal arcing and invisible damage to other components. If its an aluminum swingarm, polish a piece of the swing arm...

Vote for Redman. That fits the definition of wooden structure to a tee. Not many old trestles like that left.

Nope. VIN standards trump manufacturers code designations.

What goes in this silver box on 1982 GS1100G VIN Label?

Direct from a VIN decoder site: In the 10th position, you'll see a letter indicating the model year. The letters from B to Y correspond to the model years 1981 to 2000

    Marving exhaust

I contacted Marving in Italy back in December and inquired about North American dealers and this was their reply. I was looking to buy a CBX exhaust at the time but I haven't proceeded yet with anything. Give them a shout and let us know what they can provide. Dear Sir our U.S. dealer is...

    Slowly fading voltage while riding

After starting the bike, the charge rate ramps up to a 14+ volt bulk charge which uses almost all that the charging system can put out and as the battery charge reaches normal levels, the charge should back down to a maintenance charge. That's normally about 13.2 to 13.6 or somewhere in this...

    New member from ontario canada

NCK has been around this area for a while. They have moved at least three times that I know of and are now located in Woodstock at 125 Main St. I've dealt with them a few times and haven't been there in the last few years. I haven't heard about a salvage yard in Innerkip though.

Yes indeed, there is something about the overall look of the 83 1100E that's just right. One of my all time favorite bikes and I was lucky to find it for only $900 Canadian. That's like $100 US funds isn't it? That black engine with the red paint just looks right. The lines flow!
