A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    Performance parts for gs850g.

Changing the bore size, changes the volume of the cylinder - CC's. This will increase power because you're taking the additional volume and compressing it down to the set compression ratio. This set compression ratio is based on the combustion chamber SIZE. The piston can change this size. CC's...

    Performance parts for gs850g.

You will see the power increase through out the power range. From what I understand through research, the 750 has the better cams within the 8V engine line. The G engines are kinda lazy. It's been reported that even the 1000 will wake up with this cam swap. Also, you'll need to look into the...

    Performance parts for gs850g.

The GS850 is a shaft drive so the only option is to swap with another shaft drive engine or upgrade the top end. No performance options however, a stock 850 will wake up with a set of 750 cams, exhaust and upgraded air filter(s)... DO NOT order any gaskets until you seperate the jugs from the...

New bike in the garage...need a little help with what model it is....

The September thing didn't come into play until the new VIN requirements in the late 70's. This had more to do with the automotive world and I'm not sure when the motorcycle industry joined in the fun. I have a GS750 frame with a date code of 8/76 but licensed as a 77. I do know prior to the VIN...

    Starts w full choke but won’t idle - GS750C

If you have Suzuki VM26's, listen to Zed however, make sure you remove both idle circuit screws and check for broken tips. One in the rear and one in the front. If it runs on the choke circuit don't go chasing an ignition problem. Also, you mentioned the big bore kit. You sure it still has points?

To set up a CV carb Main jet first Midrange Low end idle If running pod filters you might need restrictors for the slide. Similar to the air correctors we run in the VM series of carbs when running pods. http://www.factorypro.com/tech/tech_tuning_procedures/carbtun.html For bikes over 8000...

    Clutch

If the clutch was not used in a long time frame it's most likely sticky and needs replaced... With my 77 GS750 I tried everything from cleaning up the notches in the clutch basket to physically moving the plates around. Didn't work and I needed to replace.

78 gs750C direct swing arm swap?

For the GSXR suspension I welded in brackets to mount the shock. works well but you lose the center stand. When swapping in the GSX or GSF engines, you also lose the side stand. The Bandit stuff in the 77 frame - I took a different approach since I had a complete bike that had been laid over. I...

78 gs750C direct swing arm swap?

This is my other 77 GS750 frame with 2000 1200 Bandit stuff... This works better for a daily. Still need the rear mods to the frame and I did install the 1200 engine... no offset sprocket needed. Bandit triple tree with the 2002 GSXR steer stem and the same afore mentioned bearings. No mods...

78 gs750C direct swing arm swap?

However, You can swap in a GSX750 engine, full gsxr suspension w/rear strut instead of shock--- shameless plug :-) Heavy mods for rear of frame. Gas tank issue - look at the dents in the front of what I believe is a 650 fuel tank. 2002 GSXR front triple bolts right up with All Balls 99-3515-5...

78 gs750C direct swing arm swap?

The GS750 engine with the sprocket side clutch actuator won't work. Can't use a wider sprocket. I swapped in a GS1000 engine for this. Then I swapped in a GSX750 engine and didn't need to space the sprocket at all. There is a post some where on the WWW where a guy tried to build a different...

78 gs750C direct swing arm swap?

Not a direct fit as frame parts need removed. Mainly the passenger foot peg brackets as the swing arm will hit it. However I have good news. With my 77 GS750, all I needed was some bushings for a 2002 GSXR 750 swing arm to mount using the original pivot bolt. Stock GSXR bushing and the...

    Starter maybe?

Check voltage on the battery cables. Clean every ground connection. Check voltage across the starter solenoid when activated. A voltmeter and 12v test light is important when testing old electrical systems. An old 12v light socket makes a quick test light. An old low wattage 12v bulb makes a...

    On/off switch for headlight, taillight

The early models, like my 77's, had a factory installed off/on switch. Turned everything off except the brake light. Now when I had my race cars in my youth, we had switches for our brake/tail lights for purposes that my lawyer has asked me not to discuss
