A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

650E model vs 650G model --- Whats compatable?

Thanks for all your thoughts. I have now asked and received clarification (ie Pictures) of what I was going to be dealing with as far as extracting it. The garage is one of those model T types, really tight as far as width but oddly like double deep. So I'd have to clean the initial hoard in...

650E model vs 650G model --- Whats compatable?

I just realized I haven't signed on in here for years! Time flies... I have an 81' 650E chain drive model that I bought last year as a project. Someone has offered me a an 81' GS650G ( shaft) bike for free that has been in the back of a garage since 1990. No title and its 171 miles one way...

Great, thanks! Do you know if the shaft that is pushed up from the bottom is part of the m/c or if I take out the brake pedal can I expect it to fall out

Rear brake hanging up --- help

1980 GS750E. Rear brake was working fine then the bike sat for about a month. Friday got it out and rear pedal very stiff, you could ride it but pedal would stick down and have to move up with my foot. The caliper is not sticking, releases as soon as I physically move the brake pedal up...

    Hesitation Help !

Ding, Ding, Ding, we have a winner! Chuck, tried your previous 2 turns out on the mixture screws and now the bike starts up right away. Still running a bit rough, think a carb sync is in order. This bike had its valves adjusted by odometer about 300 miles ago, but in time many years ago...

    Hesitation Help !

My 850 required a good choke but when it was hot it was choke on for about 5 seconds and off, this 750 needs it for at least a minute, maybe longer. I will check the battery again but it seems to be in good working order and charging system is putting out right at 14 volts which seems to be...

When I bought the bike I got a bunch of parts. Today I found the old petcock and its just how you describe it and nothing like the one that is on it!

    Hesitation Help !

When I bought the bike the carbs were off the bike in a box. Me (with the sellers assistance) literally stood there and pulled each jet and ran wire through them all, they are all clean. The carbs had been rebuilt years ago but never reinstalled, no gas had been through them. They were...

    Hesitation Help !

Bike was never ran again, carbs were never even put back on bike. Something went awry with the original owner ( in his life) and he never touched it again after that. The person I bought from had for a short time and basically passed it through to me as he has dozens of bike projects &...

    Hesitation Help !

Yes, previous owner was meticulous about his record keeping. At some point about 10 years ago or so he apparently decided to get it "up to date", carbs were rebuilt, valves adjusted, chain, fluids, etc but then never followed through. Only thing that was not specifically mentioned, plugs and...

    Hesitation Help !

1980 750E Bike was a time capsule, all stock configuration. Was stored INSIDE a basement for 20 years. Carbs were rebuilt by suppose'd "shop" and then sat for 10+ years and never installed. Owner prior to me opened them back up and when I bought the bike we went through them carefully each...

I'm not keen on these forums and can't seem to get a picture to upload. This is like old technology in here a little bit I think. Also I can't figure out why it doesn't put the threads in order from beginning to end, shows the end first
