A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    BLACK engine paints

The 73 is one of 3 I restored for a friend, I have 5 Z1900's that are behind me taking the photo. The FJR and Tracer are mine. The RD350 was sold a few months back and was mine.

    BLACK engine paints

PJ1 is my choice, fast black engine paint. No problem on prepared cases meaning they have been disassembled cleaned and media blasted. No need for primer with Satin PJ1 but media blast would give you the best surface. Your original cases may have been a bit more gloss. They do offer a gloss but...

    The Voyager has landed!

I had a friend who owned one. Used to piss him off that my fully loaded (Vetter) 1980 Gold Wing 1100 would outpull his Voyager up a hill and get better gas milage. The Voyager is a great bike however.

    83 GS1100GK restore / refresh

Off to a good start. I did a 1982 GS1000GL a couple of years back and documented it here. This is how it turned out. Keep posting photos. Might want to use a site like IBB to download your photo.

    Gs1100l

I reworked my 82 GS1100GL. If it runs good not a bad bike. I changed the seat and handlebars and put in a Wisco 1134 kit. Along with a few other things. I have a thread about the rebuild if you want to check it out...

Glad you'r ok and got the bike stopped. I ran over a razor blade during rush hour traffic in the middle lane. Tire went flat instantly but somehow I managed to get over to the shoulder upright.

Best place to get new brake pipes?

Hey Agree, I was about to go out and get that measurement for you when I remembered I dont have the stock bars on the bike anymore. I used bars from my XJ550 Yamaha so that would have been a disaster for you What I did to get my measurements is us a solid 12 gage copper wire and bend it where...

The point is there was no consequence for his actions period or don't you believe in consequences?. Has nothing do do with protection or revenge or even money. What do you mean the police are not here to protect and serve, and just there to make money for the state, really! So if she would not...

Hit and run at speed on the Pacific Coast highway, GS1150Ez, 3/16/2023.

Ya I don't see it that way, I was hit by a ST1300 Honda as the guy was speeding and lost control coming at me. We had 10 in our group who verified that he was way out of control. The police refused to give any citation whatsoever. The guy had minimal insurance that didn't cover the helicopter...

Best place to get new brake pipes?

Yes I have used Earls fittings and hose on a few of my bikes. Good way to go if you dont have originals to measure. The only thing I don't like is the fittings are just a little bulky compared to the crimped fittings.

Best place to get new brake pipes?

Maybe I missed them at Z1enterprises but I could not find any stock brake lines for my 82 GS1100GL so I went with Venhill also.

Cleaning up aluminum covers on 82 GS1100

I purchased a jet variable speed buffer a while back. Great investment if you do a lot of polishing. You got to keep the part moving to avoid a depression like Nessism is talking about.

Cleaning up aluminum covers on 82 GS1100

I typically just go at it with the black bar and a sisal wheel but some of that Suzuki coating is really thick.I may have to try that yellow wheel. I have tried a similar grey wheel from Caswell but it tends to disintegrate quickly.

    GS1100E bad timing chain replacement

Im not sure if you cam find a chain that is not endless for that size engine. Yes the smaller engine no problem. But if you can find a chain that has a rivet link that would save you the problem of splitting cases.
