A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Here are all four looking good on a warm day. The GS finished up last November and just rolled over 30K this morning. Couldn’t have done the engine without out Chuck’s help…great guy.

    Suspension Advise for a 83 GS1100E

Good deal. Does anyone sell plugs that eliminate that plastic line between the forks? I don’t trust that line considering how old it is.

    Suspension Advise for a 83 GS1100E

I finally have the forks rebuilt with sonic springs and I also eliminated the anti-dive valves. So do I still need to add air to the shocks? It was recommended not to add air to my CBX forks after I installed race tech springs. It rides fine without the air.

Thanks and I assume no advantage going with Racetech or Sonic Springs?

I could use help with spring selection. I saw in other threads that show various methods to block them off, but there is a bolt on product that looks nice and clean. I also want to reduce future maintenance so if they are not needed, then I can live without them.

    Suspension Advise for a 83 GS1100E

I have been pouring through threads over the past few weeks and found some good info…but not everything I need to make a decision. I am currently giving my 83 GS1100E a full frame up resto. I’m now at the brake and front fork rebuild stage. I have no intention of putting on forks or brakes from...

Chuck was a great host. Really appreciate taking the time to show me the tear down process. Not as intimidating as previously thought now but still a lot of small parts to keep track of. Hopefully have the top end squared away in a few months with Chuck’s assistance. Should have the GS back on...

    GSX1400…Anyone got one Stateside?

I just need advice from someone who imported a non-US spec bike.

    GSX1400…Anyone got one Stateside?

Wanted to see if anyone was able to get one into the US and registered. I have K0 model that I picked up when I was stationed in Japan and lets just say its complete, but disassembled, I’d like to get it back together this summer and registered if possible. I believe its old enough to be...

83 GS1100E Brake System Rebuild Kits?

My master cylinder corroded pretty bad and lots of the pieces deteriorated. Instead of messing with this one, I’m going to give a 01 SV650 N MC a shot. Plus all the rebuild parts are available.

83 GS1100E Brake System Rebuild Kits?

I’m stumped too. I ordered an All Ballz kit and it wasn’t even close to what the OEM cam with. I think I might just replace the whole master cylinder with an aftermarket piece.

83 GS1100E Brake System Rebuild Kits?

Brakecrafters doesn’t carry the rear caliper rebuild kit or the front master cylinder. Looks like I will need to order from multiple sites.

83 GS1100E Brake System Rebuild Kits?

Is there a single website to to source (front & back) caliper and master cylinder rebuild kits from…plus pads? Been searching but no one so far has everything.

Got really lucky years ago and picked up a set of unused “school bike” wheels. They are still in really nice shape and only needed a good cleaning. CBX wheels are built up with rivets and cannot be taken apart.

The scoop was something I put on but those engine guards came with the bike when I purchased it. Not sure if they were a Suzuki option…most likely aftermarket back in the day. They are aluminum.

Not 100% sure but pretty confident it was. If not, would have been LSamelak
