A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Yes, I wish I lived in TN. Saints title in Chattanooga will title for $400. Just have to buy cheap enough to make it worth it. I'm in Missouri and trying to title with bill of sale (no title) is not possible. With Saints, you fill out a bill of sale on their website and basically sell him the...

    1983 gs1000

Here's a pic. I assumed shaft bc of year. The rear brake was locked up and after trying to start with a good battery with no success, I lost interest. It was cold as hell.

    1983 gs1000

It was actually a GS1100. They want 500 and I had to fight like hell for her to agree to 300 after looking at it. People today think their junk is worth gold. No title and possible starter or motor locked. No thanks, if the motor is locked I wouldn't want it for free.

    1983 gs1000

I looked at a GS1000 today. Was being sold as non running. I took a battery to check if the engine would turn over. The lights came on with the key, but even jumping the solenoid it was non responsive. As I drove away (didn't buy it) I had a thought. I did not pull the clutch lever in and it...

    Aftermarket Ignition fitted to GS650

I diagnosed my newly acquired 81 GS650 with a bad igniter. The bike was only firing on the outside cylinders (1and 4). In my search for an easy fix, I had found used igniters for around $100 or an aftermarket new igniter for $200. The aftermarket Dyna type ignitions only appeared to fit most...

RPMs increase and decrease with blinker?

Check your grounds, make sure all ground connections (engine, signals, all)are clean and tight. Bad grounds will cause strange electrical issues. As far as the running.I had a Honda CB400t that would not take throttle but idle fine. Try raising the needles in the throttle valves a bit, after...

    GS650 Aftermarket Electronic Ignition

There's a DS3-1 Ignition on Amazon. Would that be the same as this DS3-2? Thanks for the help!! EDIT- The DS3-1 is for early points ignition (KD) and DS3-2 is for later points and electronic ignition (Nippondenso). I am ordering this and will have a fresh install review when I receive it.

    GS650 Aftermarket Electronic Ignition

That's great news. I may try this. I am just trying to avoid spending $100 or more for a used hit or miss cdi. I have not removed the ignition cover, are there existing timing marks to retime for the dyna? Thank you for the info!

    GS650 Aftermarket Electronic Ignition

I have a bad igniter on my 1981 GS650 (not firing the rh coil), I see that the dyna s type ignition only shows to fit on most GS's but not the 650. Has anyone tried to fit one? It seems if you would hook up the the two pickup wires to the coils and 12V to the unit, it should work. I have...
