A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

ISO: stock 750/850/1000/1100 E/G "standard" US handlebar

I wish I could tell you more about the windjammer, but the only time I rode with it was when I first bought the bike. After that I took it off and kept it in my attic ever since (4 years). Hope the new bars and set up work out!

    Vetter Windjammer 5

I took this Vetter Windjammer 5 off of my 1980 GS850G a few years ago, I included a pic of it attached to the bike. I don't have a need for it so I'm hoping someone on here could make use of it. It seems to be in pretty good shape, keys work, and the light worked before I took it off, its just...

Do you need the windjammer fairing too? I have the bars, support structure, wiring, keyed windjammer & fairings that I took off of my 1980 GS850g that I've been meaning to get rid of.

    Ignition Coils for GS425

One of the ignition coils on a 1979 GS425 I picked up seems to be shot, it's partially melted and reads OL on the multimeter. After looking around in the forum it seems like folks prefer Dynatek coils as replacements (link attached). Before I pull the trigger on them, I thought I’d ask: What...

I have no idea if they are original, but I'm happy to replace, thanks for the advice. Any idea where to source those?

    New Member - KCMO - GS850G

Hello all, I'm an urban planner who has owned a 1980 GS850G for 3 years. In that time I've tooled around with it quite a bit (rebuilt the top end last year due to a sheared exhaust bolt), often using this forum and BikeCliff's website (et al.) as resources. Its mostly stock except for the...

    1982 850GZ tuning issue

How is the hose leading from Carb 2 back to the petcock? I recently tracked down an issue I had been experiencing on my 1980 GS850G where the 2nd cylinder was always behaving strangely. Finally got it sorted when I plugged that line so I could use an auxiliary gas tank, which made me realize it...
