A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Feb 2026 82 GK

I didn't see it in it's original form, so I probably wouldn't have known if it wasn't a real GK. But everything does line up with what I'd expect to see on a GK now that I'm a bit more informed. I did the striping on the fairing to intentionally tie it to the rest of the bike. I thought it...

LED Flasher Unit & Auto Cancelling

I'll just add that I modified my turn signal system to use an LED flasher along WITH the stock self cancelling unit. The LED flasher provides the signal to the bulbs and a solid state relay / micro controller listens for the off-signal from the self canceller. I put the whole thing into a single...

    82-83 GK Seat

I've seen those. While the seat pans are the same and they do fit, they are styled differently. I'm looking for the GK seat with the pleats and the "backrest" bumps on the rider and passenger seats. I actually purchased a used 1100G seat in poor shape with the intent of remaking a GK seat...

    82-83 GK Seat

I know this is a long shot, but I'm looking for an original seat for my 82GK. In any condition. If someone has one (extra-long shot!) or sees one somewhere, please let me know!

    Bike Of The Month Submissions

Updated my post with a little history on the bike. Oh, and this is the photo I was talking about in that story.

    Bike Of The Month Submissions

Yep, I have noticed the dislike for shaftys! Or maybe it's just Rob's comments I've been seeing!

    Bike Of The Month Submissions

1982 GS1100 GK. Delkevic 4-into-1 exhaust, de-k'd, a few cosmetic alterations like bars, mirrors, faring, and seat. A few functional mods like all LED lights, custom turn signal flasher, progressive shocks front and back, stainless brake lines, and shit tons of regular maintenance. The perfect...

Pit Replica seat covers / tarriffs?

I haven't bought anything from this vendor specifically, but I did buy some brackets from CMSNL for my GS for $35 + shipping. And later I got a $32 dollar tariff invoice from fed ex because the pars came from the Netherlands. Also, my wife got a tariff bill from UPS for something similar.

    Fairnig Installation

I like it allot. It doesn't provide full wind protection like a full fairing would, but it definitely does provide some protection. It was naked before so this is a big improvement. Here's another look from the side.

    Making seat foams

This is the way. I've been looking at re-making a factory GK seat since they're so hard to find. I have a friend who is an upholsterer who want to sew the cover for me. He, and all of the videos I've watched say to do this same thing. Start with a big block of foam, or layers of varying...

    Different handlebars

This makes sense. I've been on bikes where I'm too far forward and it makes my hands numb. I guess I just need to try all of them until I find one that is just-right. Salty listed a few good ones to try out. Ordered an Emgo euro bar. We'll see how that works out.

    Different handlebars

Thinking I may want to try some different handlebars. Something a bit more comfortable for longer rides. Not sure if this is true, but I read that I should be a little more forward, closer to the steering stem? Seems counter intuitive to me. Im currently running magna wide bars. But I’m...

    Long and Short Plug Boots

Update. The #2 plug is not short. Instead of remaking the plug wires, I considered just swapping the coils to different sides to get some extra slack on the short plug wire. I figured I should know how the firing sequence works before I disconnect everything. That's when I learned about the...

    Connector Pinout Question

Yea, it's like they were out of the white-green wire that day, so instead they went with yellow-blue. Makes troubleshooting electrical issues "interesting" to say the least.

    Connector Pinout Question

I ended up doing something similar. I carefully cleaned the wires with the connector still in-tact. Then made a diagram so I knew which wires went to which pins. They aren't color-for-color and there are two loop-back wires on one side. Once I was confident I had them accurately mapped I...

    Connector Pinout Question

82 GS1100 GK. Anyone know where on the wiring diagram I can find this particular connector? As you can see it's pretty bad off. I want to rebuild it but I'm not sure what condition it will be in once I manage to get the two halves separated. It would be nice to have a diagram just in case...

    Too good to be true?

Hence the title of this post. If was closer I'd go check it out.

    Too good to be true?

Agreed. I'm hoping someone else here will pick it up so I don't end up divorced by getting "just one more bike".

    Too good to be true?

Found this on a Suzuki Motorcycle FB group. Looks too good to be true. But if it's for real, then it's a steal. Looks like it might be in NC. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1VzXerqxAU/
