A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Do you still own a GS?

    I still have 2 1983 GS1100e, 1 1982 GS1100e, 1 1984 GS1150, and, 2 Bandit 1200’s. The 1150e is a project, and one of the Bandits is a project. And, a 1984 RM250 and a 2003 DR-Z250 if we count dirt bikes. I’m still in the denial phase, at 62, I hope I can still ride ok till 75.

Thoughts about the website in general

Hi Frank, I’m all for having a for sale category for other brands on here. Like you are saying, most all of us here own or have owned other brands of bikes, and non GS Suzuki’s. I might be a bit biased though, as I own 10 different brands of bikes 😂 Thanks again for all your work here...

1983 Suzuki GS 1100 ES For sale not mine

Depending on how it looks in person, how well it runs, no cracked body work, I think my limit would be $3000 in today’s market. An ES is definitely on my bucket list.

    Nice 1983 GS1100e on CL in L.A.

Just a nice condition 1983 GS1100e on CL in the Los Angeles area. To me, it looks like you could just hop on it and ride it home without any worries or issues. From the sellers description, I would say he is a GSresources member...

    Did Europe have a 1988 GSX1100es?

I’m thinking it was a typical “leftover” model, first sold in 1988, hence, titled as “1988” I’m sure things were the same in Italy, as in the U.S, in that era, the bike world was seeing a massive evolution of technology, so many new technologies bikes coming out, seemed like every few months...

    Did Europe have a 1988 GSX1100es?

Thanks for the responses Carter/Rob/Sandy! The bike is for sale in Italy, an obscure website for me. What caught my eye, was the ad’s description of it being a 1988, and, the picture of the odometer indicates 4.6 kilometers from new…I kind of discount this, but, the bike has piqued my interest.

    Did Europe have a 1988 GSX1100es?

Just wondering if they were still selling a GSX1100es in Europe, in 1988, as a new bike, not a leftover? In the picture, it looks very similar to our 1983 GS1100es here in America. If so, would it be 1074cc like in 1983, or 1135cc like our 1984 GS1150? The post I saw with this picture lists it...

My new 1979 Hallman HL500 BPR Yamaha

Anybody on here into vintage MX? If so, you might remember the old 4 Stroke National?s MX races and the special built works bikes the top guys raced. This bike was built by Bruce Porter Racing. It was recently restored by Bruce. He did a fantastic job on this bike.....just so many trick parts...

What is the weight of a complete 1983 GS1100e engine vs Bandit 1200 engine?

Thanks guys for the information. When I get back home from Alaska, I will weigh all three GS1100e bikes on scales. I have a couple pretty accurate 500 pound scales, put one under each wheel. Granted, they all three have aftermarket 4-1 exhausts, and pods. And the black 1983 bike has a complete...

What is the weight of a complete 1983 GS1100e engine vs Bandit 1200 engine?

I?ve searched through over 300 posts with various keywords, no luck in finding accurate information. I?m contemplating putting a Bandit 1200 engine into one of my 1983 GS1100e bikes, with modern Ohlins front and rear, Bandit swing arm modified for the twin shocks, modern 17? lightweight wheels...

One of the coolest part of my new old GS

Funny, but I think it has about 50% to do with color, 40% condition, and about 10% make and model? All I know is that I get constant thumbs ups, and guys stopping to chat and compliment me on my bright red 1983 GS1100e. Not so much on my black 1983 GS1100e or maroon/dark red 1982 GS1100e. All...
