A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    No Oil in Sight Glass

Yes. Always on the center stand. I only park it on the center stand because I am frequently checking the oil. I'm not sure you understand what I was describing. After riding, the oil didn't drain back down. It showed zero oil even after 90 mins of sitting (on the center stand). When I started it...

    No Oil in Sight Glass

Hi - 1982 GS1100G - I have a very small engine oil leak and am waiting for the riding season to be over to change the gasket so I have been keeping a close eye on the oil level. Parked the bike after a 15 minute ride. Looked at the sight glass 10 mins later and it showed no oil. I mean zero...

Engine Oil getting into Secondary Gear Oil.. Help?

1982 GS 1100G (Shaft Drive) Beginning of season, all fluids topped off correctly. After about 1000 miles, I start to get an oil drip when I shut the bike off coming out of the overflow for the secondary gears. It is clearly engine oil as the amount of overfill is the same amount that I have to...

    Bizarro problem

Took the petcock apart and there "may" be a pinhole in it. Partzilla has an OEM one and only $65 so I ordered it. It will be here tomorrow.

    Bizarro problem

There's lot's of vacuum through the vacuum line. I'm hoping it's just a clogged up petcock. Emptied the tank. Going to take the petcock off tomorrow.

    Yes. Spark is good.

    Bizarro problem

Actually... I did remove the vacuum line while it was running to make sure there was vacuum. (There was) No fuel was coming out of the petcock.

    Bizarro problem

1982 GS1100G. 100% stock. #2 cylinder not firing. Have good spark. Took gas tank off. Hooked up external gas reservoir and plugged vacuum line. Started and runs perfectly. Took the time to adjust air / fuel mixture and sync carbs while the tank was off. Runs like new with external gas reservoir...

1 Cylinder not always firing at idle

I'll give that a try. Thanks.

1 Cylinder not always firing at idle

I ran it good and hard for about 20. It's annoying that it wants to stall at idle. I'm looking for an easy fix instead of taking the carbs off.
