A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

timing between 1/4 and 2/3 is way off

Thanks for the reply Unfocused, If it was a small adjustment i would not have bothered writing a post. I guess i have to examine the governor assembly for accuracy and 180degree spacing. I am surprised; it seems like a solid part with some slight clearance between the weights and the rotor. No...

Hi fellows, I have a ? 77 750 with a timing issue With the points set i had to redrill the bolthole for the points-set because it was to far off to be able to set correctly. clutchpack thickness clutch release maxed out

After installing a Vesrah clutch pack on my 750 8V the clutch release bolt has to be turned in so far the nut baraly fits on. I could try and slip the clutch a lot to thin the plates ;-) Anyone has the same experience with fat clutch plates ?

smoothbores bog, air screws no effect

I have cut back a rectangular shape and have doubled the size of the intake. Still want to make a some sort of intake box guard and some dampening material, propably PPI 10/20 The battery box is in the way so i might solve that first.

smoothbores bog, air screws no effect

Anyone have experience with enlarging the air intake on a stock airbox ? I could cut a maximal intake and try to shield of with, gaffer tape for instance, to try to work out the best intake size. But i am curious if someone else has had good results and how much was cut ?

smoothbores bog, air screws no effect

I got up and drilled 54mm. holes in the lower part of some spare side covers. It makes a big difference; the bog is almost gone and the engine breathes much better. Now i am going to find out if i can make a larger inlet in the back, find a way to muffle the intakesound.

smoothbores bog, air screws no effect

Thanks Zed, This explains a lot; i will go experimenting with the airbox tommorrow. I like the original airbox for holding the carbs in place and giving a sonore sound when driving down town. I will try to find a way to make it work. Maybe something with extra side vents And i will look into the...

    making a colortune

I have thought about brass/copper but was afraid it might get too hot in the head for a different metal. They might use a mixture of metals and i know nothing about melting points. So i thought iron was the safe way to go. My carbs are way to rich so i first try to get them leaner and see if the...

The carbs are VM slide carbs. The nail is a common iron nail, i have not thought about impedance.

    making a colortune

Good advice ! I am wearing glasses so that is a bit of protection. Chuck is right; it is hard to see specially in the sunlight. But under a blanket with a fan for the heat it works. And because i won?t use it often it saves me some cash for every day tools.

    making a colortune

Well; the original one costs 117 dollar. The nail costs me 7 cent and an old spark plug. It?s worth a risk to me.

    making a colortune

a nail for a pin welded to a 4mm. thread and taped to the top. At the bottom end i have a small piece of tape (folded inside out) to stick the nail to the electrode to keep it centered. After that i keep the plug upside down, stick it to a stand with tape and fill it with a seringe with epoxy.
