A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Cannot switch into neutral while stationary

I did. And I think after break in it’s all good now.

Cannot switch into neutral while stationary

Yes, it appeared that I ordered EBC springs which were HD. I did install 3 oem and 3 new HD springs. The issue has resolved on its own and might have been attributed to new plates not being broken in.

Cannot switch into neutral while stationary

It has worked its way in. Seems better now but still a bit edgy. I think it will be alright after couple of hundred miles.

Cannot switch into neutral while stationary

After I replaced my friction plates and clutch springs it seems that I am not able to switch into neutral while stationary, especially it is literally impossible to do so from first gear- the shift lever just won’t go up. While the bike is coasting or with engine off, I can go into neutral...

    Shaft driven GS clutch adjustment

We don't want any slack on the shaft itself, only on the cable, correct? E.g. I should turn the shaft all the way until it reaches a stop point and then put on the arm?

    Shaft driven GS clutch adjustment

This is how clutch arm is position on my bike right now: Clutch arm by Juleb Jakarta, on Flickr

    Shaft driven GS clutch adjustment

Got it. 2-3mm cable free play should do it? The reason I ask is because my clutch seems to be dragging just a bit. It’s not enough to push the bike forward when it’s on the ground but it’s enough to spin the wheel when on a center stand. Also the engagement point seems to be at the very end of...

    Shaft driven GS clutch adjustment

How does one adjust clutch on a GS650G? I am not seeing anything on it in the service manual. With chain driven bikes there’s an adjustment rod on the left side of the bike, but my bike doesn’t have it.

    Ignition coil nuts

Looks like G850 has a different setup. I think on a GS650 the coils mount on top of frame bracket, not underneath it.

    Ignition coil nuts

This must be a stupid question and maybe it was asked before but here it is: on ignition coil there’s a stack of spacer, nut, grover washer and another nut. What is the right way of arranging it when mounting coils to the frame?

    More melted wires/connectors

I would be interested to purchase one for my GS650G. Do they come pre-wired?

    Stator and R/R Replacement on a 650G

Did you have to rewire it? By the looks of it it seems that sh775 comes as a box with two sockets.

    GS Valve Shim Club

Yes, understood. What it the process of tipping the valves? How is it typically done?

    GS Valve Shim Club

Please pardon my ignorance but I am not quite familiar with the glossary here: what is keeper? What means tipping valve? also, is there a way to measure the clearance between an empty bucket and cam? Running the engine with exhaust side out of specs - what are the consequences?

    GS Valve Shim Club

That is some invaluable information. So my head was serviced my a shop, and now my exhaust side seems to be way off. I tried and ground one old shim down to 180-185 and it still seems as not thin enough. The shop did not mention any excessive wear on valves or valve seat. I am going to contact...

    GS Valve Shim Club

Too bad the smallest size z1 carries is 220. I need smaller. Does this club still operate?

    Help identify correct engine timing

It's a 1982 GS650G I set up my timing according to the Suzuki manual and everything looks OK except that I feel like when my crank is on 1-4 T mark, my EX cam arrow 1 is flush with the head surface, and there are 20 rollers between the cams 2 and 3 arrows, yet my IN cam arrow 3 is not 100%...

    Rear wheel flange crack

Thanks to all who responded; So, I ordered a 'new' (another) wheel, which, as stated, was from bike with only 4k miles. The new wheel has a same crack in the same area. Is that just a production flaw? It looks like the 'crack' or rather slight separation is where still sleeve joins the aluminum...
