DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

A word of Warning regarding Chains

The master link was definitely installed in the right direction. Aside from the clip failure, in the few hundred miles I had it, it was a very, very bad chain. Loud, stretchy and hot. I can verify it's the chain quality itself as I have the same new DID "K" Roller chain on my GT750 in a 530...

A word of Warning regarding Chains

I did install the spacer recommended by JT to take up extra width from the OE Cushioned sprocket. As far as alignment, The tire was strait in the swing arm and the sprocket to sprocket appears to be visually strait, but no other checks. I was also curious about the temperature.. Can anyone who...

A word of Warning regarding Chains

I recently freshened up my 1980 1100E and bought new a new DID 630 Roller Chain and JT Sprockets. I simply picked the DID because it was on the shelf at the local shop, about 70 bucks and you can always trust a DID. I put about 200 miles on it and noticed the chain would be pretty warm after...

    GS1100E Oil Pressure Light

I've sourced this cover and vapor blasted it.. can't get the problem to come back yet in the shop, but too much ice outside to give it a try. No restrictors installed in the bike so that's good news. Shame about the oil pressure switch.. Not sure which bike the cover comes from, can't find it...

    Split the cases or no??

The C-Ring is in front of the seal, but no where to grab it. That's why I drilled a small hole for a snap ring pliers.

    GS1100E Oil Pressure Light

I would absolutely trade! I'll look around Thanks Steve. I lowered the idle to capture it on video. It's very intermittent.. but still does it at 1500... sometimes

    GS1100E Oil Pressure Light

I am now getting a flickering oil pressure light on my 80 1100e. It still flickers even with the revs up a bit so I assumed it was a wiring issue. It is also very intermittent.. sometimes wont happen at all. I tried a new oil pressure switch and the problem continued. To eliminate all wiring...

    Split the cases or no??

I just replaced the countershaft seal with the cases together. There is a C-ring in the way holding the seal back. I drilled a small hole on the back end of the C-Ring and using a snap ring pliers I was able to snap it out of the groove fairly easy. It also goes in fairly easy. The most...

    1980 1100E Head Oil Leak

Hello Friends, It appears my account was deleted but I have taken the poor GS off a 4 year time out so I am back! I am trying to button the oil leaks up on this bike.. Replacing all the seals, gaskets, o-rings etc. The last leak is from the two front head nuts on the sides of the cam chain...
