A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

    1983 GS750E wheel swap options

Pretty neat swap. At least you'll have a greater choice of tires! I'm not looking to swap forks out due to trying desperately to keep the bike as OEM as possible. I don't mind some tiny adjustments to the rear brake support rod if necessary but any upgrade I do to the 750 have to be subtle. The...

    1983 GS750E wheel swap options

Is the 16" and 17" wheel combination (2.50x16 front 3.00x17 rear) on post 1982 GS1150's compatible with a GS750E of the same vintage? OEM 750 is 2.15x16 and 2.50x17. Wondering if that small bit of growth was reflected in widening the forks and swingarm on the bigger bikes.

    Comparing a GS650 to GS850, 750, 550 etc…

Just bought a nice 83 GS750E out of Meredith in August. Been busy acquiring parts and upgrading where necessary. These bikes are getting harder and harder to find clean so if you're looking, be diligent about scouring the ads.

    1983 GS750ES- Model?

Been in the process of restoring a clean-ish G-Color code ED model. (Naked save the 1/4 fairing mounted to the forks.). It's going to be my retired-guy ride.

Definitely part of the plan. I've been off for a long time and put over 100k on road bikes over the years but still respect the fact I've lost a step. I plan to get the local course this Spring as riding days are getting numbered now and I have some restoration plans for the bike.

rphillips, you are dead on about that right wrist. These days, it's nice to know it's there without having to wind it up to prove it. I've noticed my ego isn't quite as bold as it once was either! Ride the Pace. Chris

Finally back on two after 25 years and loving the whole 'getting used to it' thing again. The muscle memory is there but at almost 62, the balance needs a little polishing. Picked up a nice '83 GS 750E and have a nice bike to everyday ride and restore in winter. My previous rides include: 1972...
