    maintenance started...

    Im working on disassembling the new beast.

    I'm looking to replace the coils and wires. Is the Dyna upgrade worth it?

    Seems I have no choice to replace both since the exsiting wire are glued into the suzuki coils.

    Let me know your thoughts and where you get your parts !

    The stock coils are good quality. I'd dig the old wires out using a pick and replace them if necessary.

      Yes it's the original wires and they are dried and cracked couple of places. While there I think it's worth it to change everything.

        The old coils are fine, replace the wires. Unless you like spending money to spend money. Some do, that's fine too.

              Buy new if you can.If there are any Polaris ATV dealers in your area, ask for Polaris part # 4012941 - this is a Shindengen R/R model SH-775, series type. Online in USA , going price is around $65; shipping costs vary widely

                My local Polaris dealer wanted $80. Showed them the best online price I could find and asked them to match it. They wouldn't match, but they did come down to $69. They will collect sales tax, where online is usually tax free. Since there was no shipping charge, I still came out a few bucks ahead, and got it about a week sooner.

                      Any tricks to remove the glue from the coils to separate the wires? That glue is very very hard. Don't want to damage the coils!

                        Everything I have read says to take a pick and carefully dig out the wires but I have not done it myself

                          Haven't done this mod myself but have read several threads here from people that have. They chip off the epoxy with an xacto knife or similar than attempt to pull the wire out of the coil. With luck the wire will pull right out. If no luck, you need to dig the wire out with a pick tool of some sort. There is a little spike down into the recess of the coil so be careful to not damage it if you go digging in there.

                            I will go try that right now. Just finished changing the brakes fluid, was not pretty.

                              You should tear down the system then and clean it out properly if there was sludge. You can not flush out systems like that.
