    build a motorcycle workbench

I thought it was time I used the space in my garage better and scoured the internet for ideas. I came up with these sites:

-this is an informative do it yourself, seems very popular on other forums. It can be disassembled quick, but I don't like the plywood construction.

This isn't as much of a "How To" as much as it is....You Should Do......if ya'll are like me it gets old working on the ground fiddling with stuff and if you don't have spools it's hard to change your oil by yourself so here's the basic dimensions of what i built and you can use it as a startig...

-some heavy duty construction examples, cheap too.

anyone made their own as well?

    I

made one out of an old hospital bed, simple, adjustable and solid. Works well.

            Here's my table:
            materials
-one 4' x 8' osb board, rip to 3' wide as the tabletop
            -four 2x4x8' as frame rails
-2 2x4x8', cut to 3 pieces of 32" each for braces
-one 4x4x12' cut to six lengths of 2' as legs
I put the center braces a foot off from the center for the centerstand

the wood cost me $40! I haven't put a bike on it yet since I built it yesterday. There are rails and braces on the bottom of the legs for added support hidden behind the osb board

How did you cut an eight foot 4X4 into 6-2ft lengths? I want your board stretcher! Looks good though. Is the long OSB on teh side your ramp? How heavy is it?

**4x4x12', oops. The home depot i visited didn't have that length so I had to get two 4x4x8', leaving me with a 4ft leftover piece. the osb piece shown in the picture is what was left from cutting the 4x8 to a 3x8. My ramp's a 2x12x8ft long plank with ramp attachments from whoknowswhere-maybe used for landscaping at one point.

I don't know about ours at work. The older Hill-Roms only hold about 400lbs.

If I could find a bariatric bed, it may work.
You have to look how the couplings on the drive motors are. I don't think any plastic would hope up for too long, let alone the motors.
