Was looking at this on my 78 100 and going 'shouldn't this have a cover?'.Or is this the way they are?
BTW this is where the front sprocket is,yes I'm cleaninig it up.Want to see about this first.

No cover...just use a toothbrush in that area when degreasing the side of the cases.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it. -

Yes it seem counter intuitive to leave the face open like that but that what it is supposed to look like. Ive never closely investigated exactly how it lines up, but i think the foam sound deadener thats in the sprocket cover loosely fits aginst it.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
