1972 CB350 Semi Resto.

I bought this 1972 CB350 a couple of weeks ago. It's going to be for my girlfriend who is moving up here in September and she doesn't know about it yet. I paid $500, which to be honest is maybe a little more than it was worth since it's a pretty big project and was in rough shape, but I'm having a nice time fixing it up. My plan was to keep it as stock as possible, but after seeing it, buying it and tearing it down, etc., that isn't really possible or realistic. I'm going to try to clean it up really nicely and get it running while making as few cosmetic/style type decisions as possible so that she can take over when she gets here.

You're probably right - the $1,500 is kind of my baseline to get it running and mostly back to a road worthy state but I'm sure was a little optimistic. One thing I've learned so far is that parts for this are SUPER easy to come by for the most part. Finding parts for my GS450 was never a problem, but on DCC, you can type in 'CB350' and pretty much everything you need comes up. I got a complete engine gasket set for $45, a total no brainer considering that the GS450 cylinder head gasket alone set me back $75!

Do all of the work yourself (like Chuck) and you'll restore it for under $1500.
If it's too beat up to resto to factory condition, they cafe easily.

He mentioned his budget is $1,000.00 and would like to be at $1,500.00 all in, which included the $500.00 purchase. Maybe, but very tight!
