A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I have 1978 GS1000 with stock mikuni carbs and Emgo Pod Filters. The Previous owner cut to mufflers off at the pegs and I just extended them with a flexible pipe(loud but cool:dancing:).

What jets go you think I should use? Anay additional info would be appreciated.

Get some K&N pods - the emgo's are rubbish.....

I have a sent of Uniflow that will fit you can buy - better but still nowhere near as good as the K&N's (that's why I'm taking them off!)

Then get a Dynojet kit & fit it. Best $100 you've ever spent... you'll burn that in Jets trying to get it right jetting it yourself.

Dan :)

Just to clarify what Monk posted, you'd want a Stage III kit for that setup. They also make a Stage I for basically the stock airbox and stock or aftermarket exhaust.

Apparently NOT for the 78... only a stage 3

OK, so I think I scored big. I got a K&N Motorcycle Power Kit for $113 shipped on ebay. It contains 4 filters and carb calibration kit! now what!? I guess I wait for delivery Huh?!?! Stoked!:D

I went for a ride on the bike today. My wife wants me to put an exhaust. Is there something out there that wont break the bank but sounds cool?

I do believe the "calibration kit" is a Dynojet kit.
Good score!

Before I bought it I looked on the internet and I think you're right. I love the listings that don't sell high because of vague discriptions. I got a new Dyna S ignition and two new green Dyna coils with accel wires for $175 for the same reason.

Nice... very good at that price if it is!

Only really common new exhaust available is a V&H for about $300. If you want a black one to clean up there is a guy on here trying to shift one for about $75. I have his email address. PM me if you want it....
