A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

So my bike came with aftermarket bars which are too low for the more upright riding position I'm after (If I want to lay over a tank and go fast I can hop on my RD350LC). So I was wondering if anyone knows the measurements of the stock bars that would have come on my bike.

I have a semi decent bike wrecker near me but everything is organized by part. i.e.) a bin for carbs, a bin for bars, a bin for gauges etc. As such I would need to know what the stock ones measure(never having seen them) so I could pick them out of a pile.

Alternatively if anyone knows of a site that sells OEM replica bars I'm all ears.

-thanks

Or maybe someone could measure theirs for me?

Even just a similar model, just looking for baseline measurements for when I go to the wrecker…. please?

Thank you!!!!!!!!! That helps immensely!

Just out of curiosity, are the stock bars stamped with a part number or identifying mark on them anywhere?

Nowhere I could locate....

Some people suggest the knurling pattern and spacing in the center width area gives a clue.

Handlebar part numbers…..

HANDLEBAR B
56111-37000 56111-45031

HANDLEBAR C&EC
56111-45030 56111-45031

HANDLEBAR N&EN
56111-45060

Those are '77, '78, and '79 750s.

Sorry I don't know the difference between the various ones.

I do have an extra set of stock GS550 bars I might trade for your low ones depending on which type they are and your location.

They are the same except for just a tiny bit less rise than the 750 I believe.

I'm in BC Canada so postage would probably be outrageous. Unfortunately I think the bars currently on my bike are bent, could just be an optical illusion though... but i doubt it...

Thanks for the park numbers, I appreciate it.

I have a stock set of bars for an e model if the bars on your bike are superbike bars. Just do a swap if you want

The bars that are on it right now say "Aero Flex" on them, I'm more than happy to swap them for somebodies stock bars, but I'm pretty sure they are bent. Also, I am on the west coast of Canada, so shipping may make it unpractical depending on where you are located.

Looks to be dirt bike bars. Well you can stock replacements for you bike at a bunch of places for around 22$.

Yeah I will probably buy the classic bars linked to above if I don't see anything at the bike wreckers I like. I'm holding off at the moment until the paperwork for it is settled. Then I'll pick up some bars, exhaust, rubber mount for the tank, and finally tires (the newest of the two on it is from '89... and a hockey puck....)
