A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi everyone, Im looking forward to changing the oil in my forks on my cafe racer, however I have a question: Does my gs have drain bolts in the forks or do I need to remove each fork leg and open them up to drain the oil ? If so what oil weight should I use ? Thanks.

The small screw near the bottom of the fork is the drain. 10 weight fork oil is good.

But please keep a few things in mind.
1. If you just open the drain hole, you won't get all the dirty oil and crud out.
2. You WILL have to open the top of the forks to put new oil in.
3. Only remove one fork cap at a time, unless you have a jack under the engine.
4. The proper way to add the proper amount of oil is to have the spring out and the fork held vertical and fully compressed. If you can't raise the back of the bike off the ground to get the forks straight up and down, it's easier to remove the forks from the bike.
5. Especially if you remove the forks from the bike, plan on replacing fork seals, too. Just because "they weren't leaking" is no excuse. They may have not been leaking because everything was already gone from the forks. Replace the seals NOW, do the job ONCE.
