I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

what does everyone use for replacement mirrors for a 1982 GS1100GK? I have the style that bolt to the fairing.
let me know a link if you have one or pics of what you have done
Thank You

Some comments:

- I don't know if any generic mirrors will fit the fairing.

- Used stock ones seem hard to find (I looked for a year +).
ANy I found were near junk.

- Have you considerd using typical handlebar mount style?
THe threaded hole is there on the clutch and brake lever thingy.

.

I found used ones and put new glass in and wrapped the weight in foam and the vibrate like crazy.

I still have not found a suitable replacement

I tried the stock ones on my '84, and same deal...vibrate like crazy. I found some "G" stock mirrors on ebay that mount to the handlebars. Not only do they NOT vibrate at all, they are convex so you can see more.

On my stock GK mirrors, there was something rattling and buzzing inside the mirrors (in addition to various other rattles and buzzes elsewere, could have a full forumn on just that), and was something bumping against the mirror coating backing and wearing away the reflective material.
I drilled hole in bottom of the housing and pumped in some silicon caulking. Has been fine for the 5 years since. But now rusty stuff is coming out from behind the glass ... .... ... hum.

I do like to keep things stock, but am about to give up on the stock GK mirrors, and get some stock GS mirrors for the handlebar mount.

................................ Not only do they NOT vibrate at all, they are convex so you can see more.

Convex, and bigger, and closer to you, maybe a bit wider apart.... and more like what might be accustom to on most mo'cykls.

Although I think the view in stock GK mirrors are OK. Only thing that cant see is right behind you up close (like shoulder width, 3-4 feet behind bike) and cant see way off to either side, both of which don't really need to see. I thinbk most people that don't like them is just because it is not what they are accustomed to having on most mocykls.

I was going to start looking at other motorcycle brands that mount to the fairings and see if there is anything close and looks ok

I just bought these for my 1100g - I don't know what the brackets work with, but they're yours if you can use them (they work with standard 10mm mirrors).
