    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Can a (or any) 2 step module be used on the stock suzuki ignition system on a 1100E?. I'm thinking to use one you have to update the ignition system.

Well, you could try to make your own kill circuit for the stock ignition. Just getting it to turn off may not be to big of a problem, but getting it to do some kind of random pulsing would be a bit harder.

Maybe you could find an old MSD or Dyna S on eBay.
 
MSD makes a two step but you have to use their ign with it. $$$$$$$$
 
Found a MSD MC2 for $75 should be here in about a week. Hotter spark with a built in 2-Step and Air Kill to boot. Tonight at the 1/8 mile drags the old girl got down to 7.41 ET, not to bad with 3 cylinders at 140psi and the other down to 110psi. Once I get this 1166 13-1 kit installed this winter I should be running deep into the 6's.

Did you get a pickup, coils and some resistor packs with it, or just the ignition module?
 
Nope its just the ignition box. It will work with stock pickups and coils. Installed a clutch switch today and going to use the horn switch for the ignition kill for full throttle clutchless shifting.

Still, for $70 if the ignition is in good working condition it will be worth it.

The "full throttle clutchless shifting" will be interesting. Normally a special transmission is used to do this. The basic idea is that the gears will use three dogs versus six in a stock unit. This allows the gears to mesh under load. Also the dogs can not be angle cut for this to work. You may want to invest in spider cutting the case and a box of shift forks, as it sounds like things are going to get bent!!

Or you could have used a DRL400 Dyna box. works with the stock ignition and has a dial for launch limits and a top end rev limiter.

Actually, a lot of things are going to get bent - or broken. I hope you are planning on a long list of mods with that piston kit and the abuse that you will be putting the bike through.

Thanks, thats AOK with me. Bike been ran over 160 times sence June and I have done lots, I mean lots of clutchless shifts and my only concern was over revs but sence I got the MC2 hooked up and set at 9400 will see what happens. I'll be at the track tonight and maybe I can crack 40 runs.

Only got in 23 runs tonight, could of got more but I fill a little ill tonight so I took it easy. 12 runs in the 7.40's and lower in the 1/8 mile tonight, did pop a 7.31 and a 7.27. I think the MSD MC2 is doing its job the only problem is getting use to pushing the kill switch and shifting at the same time at WOT. Push the bottom Max and forgot to shift. oh well have to learn all over again. I'm thinking a wheelie bar might get me low 7.0's.

I think I missed what you were saying. I just locked in on the "full throttle clutchless" part. On a real drag bike, it works like this. No engine kill. That's why the gears are cut the way they are. But it sounds like you are and plan to continue to kill the engine between shifts. As long as you are button killing, why not just go ahead and button shift?

That would be a good idea. Do they keep the track open all year where you are??
