A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

These street races are part of the Burt Munro series of events.
Me and number 2 son headed down to the races.
We had an awesome day, met GregT in the pits where he was sorting the number 56 GS1000 pre '82 and the pre '89 number 56 FZR600 bikes. Both bikes won all of their races, so congrats to Greg and Kevin.
No suprise of course......

.......Wyndham - qualified 3rd then more coil probs so after trying to sort it, parked it up and concentrated on his pre 89 Yamaha, 3 wins from 3 starts.

Next year it will be different....but they all say that........

Thanks for the nice words and the pics Shane....winning at Wyndham turned it into a much better weekend after gales and freezing rain at the hillclimb and Teretonga.Helping was the Bourbon given as prizes - and of course we got a double ration with the two wins.... Aside from the Wyndham results the most pleasing outing was the only dry race at Teretonga where Kev was 3rd behind a Nico Bakker powered by a big Honda and an RG500 GP bike....no shame in being beaten by exotics like those.
Nice to meet the boys down from Auckland...hope your ride home was good but next time bring the racebikes OK....

Yes, I know the GS looks like a POS...but it goes like something off a shovel. Next winter the cosmetics may be done when the motor comes out for the big bore kit etc etc.....it never ends.

I got there for the long track, hill climb and Teretonga practice, but had to back in the North Island by Monday. Good to meet GregT and put a face to the name. Do you know what the diagnosis was for the Cooley replica?

Had a great ride there and back - can't beat those South Island passes, no traffic, and spectacular scenery.

Haven't heard what what the problem was with the Auckland based Cooley rep. Either a big end or a broken crank were the popular guesses.
You may hear before us as it was to be stripped when he got home.

I was sent this pic today - start of the first pre 82 race at Wyndham.

This gives a pretty good idea of Kiwi street circuit racing.

Three GS1000's in the shot....
