A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I bought a set of gauges to sink my carbs but i really dont think they are doing the trick. I finally got it to where both pipes are now getting hot. But i just took her out for a ride and she just stumbles on herself. I've cleaned the carbs ( dipped them ) installed all new o-rings , also put new o-rings on the intake boots. Could her stumbling like this be due to the carbs not being synced right? I really dont like the gauges.

Did you bench sync the carbs before installing them? Usually a good bench sync will be enough if you take your time. There are threads in here that go into detail on how to bench sync the carbs.

Did the bike run ok before you cleaned the carbs? It could be an electrical problem like the coils or the spark plugs themselves.

Did you follow the directions that came with the guage? If it's like the guage I have, you have to adjust the guage before you use it.

I hope this helps. I am not too familiar with the 450, but at least I can give you a place to start.

Hey thanks man. The bike ran really good before i cleaned them. just would stall when i would come to a stop, but she had get up and go in her. kind of freaked me out at first lol , didnt think it would have that much power. But now she has none. As for the instructions for the gauges , i think my 9 year old son could have come up with better instructions than what they sent me.

when you put it back together did you set everything to spec? cause I have yet to sync my carbs on my 550 and i am running great I just get terrible milage.

PS It is really nice when there is actually a title on your thread describing it because it makes it easier to know what you want.

ok changed that. i set every thing to spec. the mixture screws are set out 2 turns. i did have to re-adjust the floats cause they just werent right and had me and steve baffled.

i just found that when i turn my handle bars to the right it starts to rev. i think i may need to run my throttle cable through some where else.
