A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

On my 77 750b project I am Having trouble deciding which paint scheme to go with.

I want to go with colors that came on original bikes from all parts of the globe and here are a few samples that I know of.

If you know of more that came with the 77 model speak up and also I would like opinions. Dan

I have a nice example of the Red/Orange bike... Looks almost as good as the one in the pic there. Personally, (and this was before i found one too..so its not COMPLETELY biased..lol) I like it more than the blue or dark blue/black. I think its just because not only does it look period, but it also stands out in the crowd, where as the blue doesnt as much...To me anyway. The states based "B" models only came in the red and the lighter blue AFAIK.

That red one is one ebay right now. I am kind of leaning towards the sky blue or the black one(I like solid colors). Dan

Man that is sex on wheels! Love the mods man. You think you could shoot me a PM on how you got the wide rubber on spokes? Ive been thinking about doing an 1100E "cafe" and want to use wide spoke wheels, but need some ideas... And again, RED!!

Reproduction Decals sells a kit for the red and blue tank, but I don't see anything for the black tank. In either case I'd just flip a coin.

I think the stripe colors on the black tank are the same as the others blue tanks. Looks like an old color faded pic. The repo decal blue and gold would look good on a black tank. Dan

I once read that blue brings a higher resale value, not that your going to ever sell your project. Personally, I've owned bikes in lots of different colors but have always liked the combination of silver/blue/black the best. My '80 1100E is silver with blue striping and it gets tons more compliments than my gold '82. Either way you choose, remember it only has to look good to you!

I also like the sky blue or black because you don't see it here in the states. Dan

But if im not mistaken, I think that black, or a very very dark blue, were stock 78 colours, so it might make it look like 78 body work. Just a suggestion.

I am sure it's a black euro model and the stripe pattern is different than a 78. Dan

Let me change the question. What color would you guys like to see at a rally? be selfish. Since I already have a black 79 GS1k and a 78 skunk I am leaning toward the sky blue so that I can have something other than black, not that I don't like black I do. Dan

The blue looks nice plus it's a stock color scheme so you will maximize the value of your bike.:D
