All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

What is this really supposed to mean? I don't think luck had anything to do with it. It's called skill and creativity. Anyone can "return a bike to stock". Chop it, your not dealing with a rare machine worth lots of money! These type of comments sound silly. Sorry, just tired of seeing this type of nonsense statement.

What is to figure out!?
There is only one thing you can do with that, return it stock. That is a classic GS.
Under no circumstances should you have an original thought, I mean you got lucky last time. Lightening doesn?t strike twice in the same place you know ..................:D

Maybe I jumped the gun and this was supposed to be sarcasm?

KRS, Kiwi dont mean anything. He's just ribbin me. Theres a couple of guys round here that give ya the "correct and only way" type of reply.
Kiwi's not one of em.

Thanks for watchin the back though!

Henry

What then, another Ironhourse lookalike?;)

Ya price one of those 300 tire and rim set ups? Dude, I dont have half that into my whole bike!

Maybe you've got one from one of your botched builds that I could have for a couple hundred bucks?:p

What else then?
Stock, bobber or a cafe is about it aint it?

P.S. I edited my original post to replace a bad word with "ironhorse".
Nope, dont say it!!:D

A board tracker would look sweet. Or a Captain America look-a-like, just with a Zuki

Found some scap conduit and decided to dress up the tree area. Turned out better than I thought it would. Little machining, little paint and there ya go.

Very nice. Have you had a chance to do anything with the parts 78?

Took the kicker of this bike and rolled the engine. It rolled over so thats good! Bought a starter motor off of ebay and it got here yesterday. Im off work till next Thursday and I expect to try and get the thing fired up. If I can get 'er running, then I have to decide what to do with it. I found a titled frame that can be had for 100 bucks plus shipping that I can probably get the guy to cut the neck off of and ship me just the neck and the title. I've got a 16 over springer here, both sets of forks that you gave me, a machine shop to use and an active imagination.

Hard to say where this goes! Thought about just yanking the engine and building a screamer out of it.

Dont know yet as there are so many options.

Hot wired yer old bike up today and gave it a shot of ether, Fastpakr. Fired right up. Going to rig up a fuel can and see if she'll run for a bit Saturday.

That's great news! I will dig around a bit tonight if I get a chance - at one point I did have an ancient title for that thing that had been passed from one person to the next with the frame. It's never been signed over, but it might give you an alternate starting poing to buying another frame. They hassled me at the DMV when I tried to use it for registration as there was no bill of sale with it, but perhaps you could work something out. I'll drop you a line if I can find it.
