A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

So did they do anything about the surface rust on your seat?

I am specifically curious about that. My seat hasn't got split seams that I have noticed but the seat pan does have a bit of rust here and there. The material definately crunches down some and I definately get a bit of a ruffer ride that expected sometimes.

I'll make another good run through checking it out today and see how it works figure I probably want to take some digital pics to email to the guys there what I am talking about and see what they say on it. The rn aroudn doesn't bother me too much since I have the bike in pieces at the moment cleaning up things here for install of the new gaskets.... once I get them.

Partsnmore has not emailed me back saying they sent them out and I ordered them on the 7th of this month...and they do not provide a number for me to call and get an answer from them. They did however take my money without hesitation which I always frown upon when I don't have any feedback from them what so ever...they are saving me a sixty bucks but I would have expected some type of feedback by now... I'll just sit on my hands and wait

Sargents told me to pretty well take care of the pan and anything else before sending it in. They can get work done for you, but you'll pay for it. My pan has a little surface rust. Sanding and painting would solve it so it's really only cosmetic. I've sat on the seat once since I got it back and it seems to have plenty of cushion. If you can get the price down low enough, you'll save enough to have them put in more foam so you don't bottom out. Call 'em, see what they say.

Talked with Rudi today, very pleasent fellow. Guided me through the ins and outs and looked over the digital pics I took of my pan and current cover condition. I have some small wear showing on my existing cover (not the stock one since this guy has some draw strings or something near the rear to tighten it down) and the material is not very tight to my seat pan.

I am going with foam replacement figure hey I'm fixing this bike up I have to do this guy...the rust removal and repaint they are offering me more than satifies me since i personally have enough things to keep me busy this winter on this project.

As I got it this is how I stacked up.

1pc metal pan base price $109.95
CarbonFX Insert (yours looks too good to pass up) :-D +$20
Super Cell Foam F/R ( better make the Lady on back comfortable as well 8-[ +$100
Paint/Brush Seat Pan (this gets rid of my rust and paint problem) +$60
Shipping: $20

Grand Total: $309.95
W/Discount: $232.46

Not too shabby! If i do say so myself
