DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

What is the outcome here???
It's fairly complete. My son moved to Conneticut and took his dirt bike and most belongings but didn't have room for it then.

We decided to leave it with me and let me keep working on it. Right now I'm adding a Ducati Monster fairing. The dual headlights I used earlier may not be part of the final design. I would like to keep them, but who knows.

I also had the seat recoved earlier and don't like how it looks with the new tank and overall theme of the bike. I essentially have narrowed the seat down to 2 choices - Sargents and Corbin. Corbin doesn't make a seat and needs the bike there, so Sargents may be the one.

It has clipons onstalled now, but I am also revisiting this decision.

Short story, Matt left the bike so that I could refine it. We both like it now, but it can (and will) be better.

There are plenty of great articles on bikes out there. I'm just hanging back a bit and watching others build right now. I'll post some pics later if there is still interest.

I love Katmans bikes and Ogri has done a wonderful job. (There are many others also, just that those 2 come to mind right now)

How did you add a gas cap like that to the tank ?? Can you list parts/years to use??
Check back on this thead at page 10 or so. I went into it a bit there. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them.

I didn't feel the need to duplicate your effort after I saw that I had so I nuked it :)

Got it. So you had to fab the cap by salvaging it from a Busa tank. Very ingenious use of parts. I'm really impressed with how it's all coming together. Did you ever post photos of the completed bike (or at least photos of it mostly completed?)?

And...just because nobody else seems to have asked...what do you guess you'll have in it (just for parts)?

Some more pics of the bike's current status would be cool. :)
Ok, I'll do that soon.

In the meantime I think I've figured out the fairing. For a long time I've wanted to put a small fairing on it. The problem was, I couldn't find one I liked. I think I have one now. It's from a Ducati Monster. It uses a single 7" headlight, so I can't use the duel ones I have mounted.

I've been looking at how to mount it and think I have a solution. I'm using clipons right now and I basically spun them around facing the front. They are two strong bars to hang the headlight and faing on to. I'm going to fab some brackets to adapt everything.

The fairing is red, and has some scratches, so I'll need to paint it. I also need to find some drag bars to replace the clipons.

I know how the life/time thing is Steve so just wanted to tell you that the new pictures will be appreciated by many. There are quite a few of us who are actually very interested in following this project and seeing it completed! Keep on keepin on man :D
