read threads from 2007 thru 2009 And the Stator Papers regards need to upgrade from one pole to three pole (phase) .
forum threads appear to indicate that neither the Suzuki OEM or Electrosport or Rick's actually solve the problem of either not charging enough or cooking everything incl the battery .
I just acquired an 84 GS550L with 10,000 K's , mint condition, and been having problems with starting , charging and I might be having ignition issues and don't even know it ....after all there are four plugs to feed instead of two.
Trying to source after market upgrades for stator, rectifier and high energy coil
that will solve my issues with this bike.
If there are any members out there that have had an in-line four from mid 80's and can steer me in the right direction , would greatly appreciate it .
