A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Like bike prices PC prices seem to vary wildly.I haven't checked locally but $500 seems to be what is asked. To rich for me.

WOW! you could ship it to me have done and ship it back for that..

That is outrageous! just checked with the guy I use...blasted, prepped and coated....$175.00

500 and up is what I was quoted for frame and other bits to go along with it, 50-75 per rim on top of the 500. ya we get gouged.....

Powder coat - $225 here for frame and a bunch of parts. Looks great and worth ever penny.

I think I'm going to have to get a price from my local shop just to see how it compares to Canada and the US. Thanks one and all for the comments. It's just a phone call at the end of the day. What's it going to hurt except potentially my pocket.

I think you had better put the oil filter cover back on before you get CRAP in there and you wont be able to get it out, and dirt and dust will be floating around, not a good thing....

Otherwise you are making excellent progress

Er yes, good observation Mr GateKeeper, I was just testing to see who would notice. Of course I wouldn't be so negligent as to leave that cover off for any length of time.. :o

Thanks for the encouragement, it's always greatly appreciated! I just saw that amazing build from that guy in Sweden with the 1135 monster machine, have you seen it? Feeling totally inept and lazy compared to that dude... I think I need a bigger garage/machine shop access/lots of cash/raw talent

Viktor's build is off the charts. Katman is another who has served as inspiration for many of the builds that go on around here.

+1 on the Katman build. I'd seen his name around but never checked out his build thread. Beautiful stuff. First time I'd even heard about fuel injection and turbos on a bike!

Some really inspiring stuff. If only inspiration and cash came at the same time...

?150 should see your frame and all the black brackets powder coated. Frame on its own costs me ?80 a go.

Thanks hampshirehog, that sounds pretty reasonable to me! I'll definitely give my local shop a bell tomorrow. Is that price from a shop in hampshire?

Yes, VAT to be added (unless you collect the bits at the weekend ;))

It's not what you know, it's who eh? ;) Sounds good! I might PM you for some details if I get a ridiculous price here (Birmingham). Thanks again for the info!

All I can say is that you are a quick worker!!!

Excellent progress. I'll stay tuned for this one.

Good luck!

Yes I would love to have that Powder Coaters name and no,. too. I am about a month away from having parts ready to Powder Coat but I am doing the research now and Hampshire is on the way to visit our Grandad so would be an easy drop off. Tell me did you prepare the frame or did they do that and did yours have any of those bendy things on that hold the wiring harness? Do you leave them on? Greetings.

Thanks hjacobmiller! Just hit a patch of very busy working hours so it's slowed up a bit. Should be back on track this week...

PM sent with the details. The price includes blasting but you do need to wash the worst of the road grime / oil off. They will blast those little bendy strips and they get powder coated but if they are really badly rusted you're best taking them off and using zip ties.
